No...the double-tap puts the car in Stabilitrak Competitive Mode. To completely turn off the nannies, you must push down and hold the traction control button for about 8 seconds (until both lights turn on in the DIC).

I bought the Vitesse Throttle Controller precisely because i felt the same way about the "heaviness" of the accelerator in my 2010 2SS. Installed it in my car from shortly after purchasing until I traded up to my 2017 50th Anniversary Camaro.
The "heaviness" was evident in my new car too, so installed the VTC once again and... problem solved. In all those years, I never had one check engine light due to the VTC. I did get one related to a bad O2 sensor, but fixed that and CEL went away. If the VTC is not properly calibrated upon installation, it can throw a code, but it works great in my car and directly addresses the OP's concern. I say, "GO FOR IT!" You'll never look back... 😎

My pedal never felt heavy at all. I have the VTC and keep it on Sp3 and its PLENTY. and yes calibration is very important

Would have preferred a manual if this was a 5th Gen since both were 6 speed transmissions. But the 8 speed auto is very impressive. I'm sure the 6 speed manual has it's own joys of driving (Especially pressing the clutch and revving the engine as you drive to freak out the other cars on the road)

The reseller told me to go for the A8 instead of manual.
On the day of maybe selling "it will be more attractive"? So should I go for A8 ? |

I did one time when I was practicing launching. Turned the car sideways and have not messed with it since.

I would love to know more about what the computer does in "Competitive Driving Mode". The manual states:
"Competitive Driving Mode allows full engine power while the StabiliTrak system helps maintain directional control of the vehicle by selective brake application. In this mode, TCS is off and Launch Control is available. Adjust your driving style to account for the available engine power" What is the difference between Competitive Driving Mode and turning the Traction Control off? Should I use this when I do an HPDE? What will give faster lap times? Shouldn't a competitive driving mode stop you from accelerating too hard and losing the rear (oversteer)? It sounds like competitive mode doesn't limit you from going into oversteer. |

If you turn off TCS & Stabilitrak, compared to Competitive Mode, then Stabilitrak will not pulse individual corners to keep the vehicle pointed straight. It will be up to the driver to make course corrections when the vehicle starts walking. When TCS is off, there is noticeably more torque sent to the rear at lower RPM.

2017 2 SS- When I double tap both lights come on and the display reads Competitive Mode. So is the Stabilitrac off? Same lights come on when I hold it down for 6 secs.

Been shown in the C7 Vettes that the auto out performs the manuals in drag racing by about a 1/2 sec.

If you press the button twice, you should get a note in the DIC saying "competition mode", and even though the two lights are on, this is just a reminder you're in competition mode. They use the lights for both purposes. |
