The MT review of the ZL1 said that randy did an unofficial lap faster than the GS.

"Corvette club" says it all. Biggest bunch if septuagenarian loafer wearing comb over D bags I've ever seen in every one I have ever checked out. And I've checked out several in my area and they are totally ridiculous and lame doing stupid "dinner cruises" and the like. I hope your is club is different. As for the GS, I really choke any time I hear someone call a stock 12 second car that will run 0-60 in around 3 and half seconds a poseur car. Its typically the poseurs that say shit like that anyway. Just my 2 cents.

As for not being able to afford a Z as a typical put down of the GS buyer, I can say this, most anyone that can drop near 70K for a GS can typically get into a Z if they want it with no problem. I specifically chose the GS as I find a car with less power more fun on the street. Shit I can barely get mine out of third most of the time. This is one of the primary reasons that I found the SS to be so much fun is you can really run it through the gears. |

On another note, had a chance to do a little comparison this AM. Stopped by two local dealers and saw my first ZL1. Tough call for sure. Love the alcantara interior bits. And the front end is off the hook. Wheels even look good to me in person. Not so much about the blue but the other dealer had a NGM. Looked so hot.

I am an old school grey hair and a car guy, but don't think that way at all. Douches come in all sizes, sexes and ages, so generalizations don't fit any particular demographic, but they are easy to spot once they open their mouths.

It's ridiculous that this superficial hierarchy even exists in the minds of some folks. But I've realized that there's a certain subgroup of people that need to look down on others in order to make themselves feel better about themselves. They'd say those who bought a GS or Zl1 couldn't afford a Z06, when quite frequently affordability isn't the deciding variable for the decision.
Go across the street to the Porsche meetup, and you got a few of those members looking down on vette owners...."What, couldn't afford the 911 turbo?". It never ends and it's been going on forever. Most enthusiasts aren't like this, but they're definitely some snobs out there. I go to the gym with this cat who drives a mcclaren 650s, amg gt, nissan gtr, audi r8, astin martin vanquish, and a couple of bad azz pickups. But you wouldn't know that given the numerous compliments he gives me on the camaro. Never once a 'I could buy 4 of your zl1's for the price of my mcclaren.' Just an enthusiast chatting with another enthusiast. That's the way it should be imo Last edited by GoneBoy; 01-02-2017 at 09:56 AM. |

Most car guys and bikers are just car guys and bikers, while we have our preferences the mass don't piss on others. OF COURSE I've heard "Hah, poor man's Harley", and I just laugh at them. To each their own but I still do 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds on my bike even though it weighs 700lbs or so without me on it. My bike isn't even that much cheaper than a Harley. Sorry for going OT (or was I?). // Stefan |

Good color choice....LOVE that Black Rose Metallic! Iknow purple isn't for everyone, but I'm hoping Chevy makes it available for the 2018 ZL1.
