You sound like you're going to be at the time interval rather than the mileage, if you don't do much mileage, change it every year, I change mine somewhere between nine months and a year when it's convenient. Otherwise this oil can go 5 to 7000 miles no problem, even much longer than that if necessary

What about best oil filters? In the past I've always used NAPA gold and didn't think twice about it. if this is off topic point maybe point me to the right thread.

Like everything else, there's a huge argument about filters. The oil filter from GM is obviously fine, I like the Fram filter made for synthetic oil,… Whatever the hell that means… i've also used the mobile 1 filter and the k&n filter.

I used to use Redline oil in my C5 Vette, but do not see any mention here. If your tracking, their racing oils are very good.
