My personal experience.... as long as your car is registered in a different state and not in Virginia theyll just tell you your tints are too dark but wont give you the citation.

temporarily using a zip actually is a good idea

The bracket is probably still sitting in the previous owners garage. I'm not really surprised that they don't have it stock. Since a great majority of their cars already have them, they are not going to spend money on stocking this part if they don't have to. They make the customer order and pay for it.

Now, you probably have what is called a "fix it" ticket. When you go to court, show your receipt for the bracket and installation order and they will probably dismiss it. If not, take your receipt for the fine back to your dealer and they may either reimburse you, since it was really their fault you didn't have it, or trade out for services like detail or an extra oil change or something of that nature.
thanks a lot for your detailed advise, the previous owner is from Michigan, so probably he never install the front plate at all lol

zip tie actually may not work for every one, learned it when I took my car for state sticker...guy wouldn't pass inspection unless bracket is mounted the right way, now I need to deal with those two holes in the black grill trim

Chickenshit violations like no frt plate, snow covering rear lights, etc...WHY they make WARNING cards. I NEVER wrote BS cites like that in thirty two years. Feel sorry for You OP. Hope the fine is minimal.

You get the last laugh anyway...You drove off in a Camaro.

Fixed that for you.

One of the reasons I'll never live east of the Mississippi again. Screw that mess.

You mean even a sto and sho does not work? They need it drilled in the bumper?

Anyway my next inspection is only by the end of 2021 unless I leave NJ and if I do it better be to a state without front plates lol.

So far I haven't had any issues. I did the same for my 5th Gen Camaro as well in the past.

LOL that's the attitude I should have

still, no disrespect to that officer, just doing his job, it's the front plate law that sucks

I sure do hope sto n sho works because that is what I have now...but won't know for sure until Nov '17 when my next state sticker is due.

It's actually the factory camaro bracket that needs to be riveted to the black trim which created the two holes. So my advise - forget getting anything from dealer, just order the sto n sho.
