Me too - my first new car was a 1989 iroc Z that I scoured to find spec ed to my desires perfectly. Loved that car. Modified extensively over time - completely built custom engine, trans and rear end and suspension. Had it 10 years and sold to a good friend who ended up dying not long after at around 30. One of my top 5 all time.

Too early to tell but the new one has potential to make top 5.
I've owned over 50 for reference.

My girls are college age - both around 5-8 and taller than their mom. The main issue is I am 6' with 32" inseam so there is no room behind me.

It's a 3 person car as a result. But 95pct it's only 1-2.

Which is fine - we have other options.

For me I have a work car for daily driving, so its a weekend fun car for now. We usually take the wifes car for long trips. My 14 year old is 5'8" my wife is 5'2" and my 10 year old is 4'10" so I'm probably good for a few years. I have friends with corvettes and the camaro has no problem going on spirited drives with the vettes in the mountains and canyons. Even when loaded with 4 people it rides great, especially with the MRC. My old miata was faster on super tight mountain roads, but it had 550 lb springs, big sway bars and super sticky tires, But it was pretty much miserable to drive everywhere except on a windy mountain road.

So how does it feel, was the Hellcat that much faster? How did the extra weight feel with the kitty?
You should check out that thread I posted for more detailed answers, but to make the story short, the Callaway is faster and feels like a go kart compared to the fat cat. I need to link my YouTube page so you guys can check out the trackday videos of the Hellcat and my friend's 2SS.

I'd say the only downgrade is on the inside of the car. The interior of the Hellcat is leaps and bounds better. Yes mine is a 1SS, but it still kicks the 2SS's interiors ass.
While I may have gone down in hp, the hp to weight ratio improved

Yep, that's the main problem lol!

If you're 6 foot tall, no one over 5'4 will sit back there comfortably.. Oh well, the back seat is for emergency use only lol

The flood in Baton Rouge this August claimed both of my cars and I didn't feel like dealing with the Getrag MT82 in the S550s. The Camaro was the only real choice. I had a pretty well sorted out 2007 Mustang GT that I sold in order to buy a project car for my father and I. A few weeks before completion the flooding claimed it and my DD.

The 2007 GT.

The DD.

The Project.

My home during the flood :(

One day I'll supercharge her and get that experience. As of now, the car is a BEAST on the streets. On the highway is probably the only area where you don't feel the kick as much. Heck, probably 30 more WHP can make it that much more fun.

I'm not going to lie, the faster the car, the bigger the grin and the move I'll be in love with it. Luckily this car is fast enough for now.

I sat in a Dodge and the gadgets are better.. but I prefer the "Cockpit" feeling in the Camaro! Especially that little fat steering wheel!

https://youtu.be/FKAtw2MPzaQ Here is a link to a very good showing for the stock SS. This was "roll racing" at Pocono but we decided to just start going from a dig. I'll make an excuse cuz I can haha, I was taking it easy on my clutch, but regardless he got a great launch on me and you can see how long he stayed out in front. Please check out my other videos from there and the road course Pitt Race for more Hellcat and SS action.

Oh you nailed it on the steering wheel and gadgets for sure! I really miss being able to pull up multiple gauges on the center screen (radio display) as well as the better customization options on the speedometer screen. I also miss the seats alot but man the Camaro steering wheel is perfect.

Good stuff!

For this video, I thought the driver was in the Camaro and I'm trying to figure out what car was the red car in front.. That thing was fast and it was gone! LOL, then I see that it's a Camaro LOL

Camaro was KILLING IT!!

Totally agree. I've had 4 vettes and a Miata. The Miata was really fun about 1pct of the time and sucked most of the rest of the time. I was too tall for that car anyway - seat didn't go back far enough so legs were cramped and my head sat above the wind line with the top down. It was my first convertible and almost turned me off to the idea but tried a 3 series which was great and that led to the SS.

Camaro is a nice all a rounder - great to drive anywhere any time
Much like my M5. And I do like the backseat which we do use occasionally. The primary use case is road trip to visit one of our girls with my wife and then we can drive that car around with 3 of us as needed when we get there. Can't do that in a vette !!

That is the harshest review I think I've ever seen of a Miata. I've had 4 of them and agree that they could use more interior space but i keep going back because they are so fun to thrash.

I certainly get where you're coming from, though. In fact, when you see 1LT V6 convertibles with 20% off marked down to the new MX-5's entry level price the Mazda becomes a tougher choice.
