I'm might pull fuse also... I'm curious to see if the "buzz" I hear from passenger rear, when I go WOT will disappear.

Just so I am clear on this, if you have a manual there is no "v4" mode, no AFM, correct? So this box would not work only need would be a skip shift fix?

Is there a write up or video on how to make this a switchable features? In other words, instead of removing the fuse, installing a switch to turn it on and off?

Well after a month of having the NPP in track mode 100% of the time, I pulled the fuse and drove around for a few days. I can tell in 6th gear at 80mph that the exhaust is open, whereas NPP keeps it closed. This was the only difference I could tell, and with the windows up and music at a moderate volume level, can barely hear anyway.

Not worth the trouble of pulling the fuse and losing the adjustable function. Just my .02 cents.

Interesting! You might have just saved me the trouble. I have an A8, so I might give it a pull just to see how it all sounds with AFM, etc.

My fuse is pulled and I still get that loud occasional squeak of valves in the NPP. Did you figure out a solution?

With the a8, when you are at steady cruise you will be in V4 mode and the AFM valves will close so you won't have any drone at highway speed anyway. The only reason that I pulled the fuse is because it gets rid of the NPP buzz/rattle. Once we get a real fix I will switch it back for full NPP valve control.

I'm gonna try the "fuse removal" this weekend ... see how it sounds!! I will still have the option to go forward with the other option of "turning it off / on" if I so choose at a later date.

No I gave up and just put the fuse back in. I tried everything. Unpluging the battery, starting and restarting the car, re watching the video and double checking everything. All I can determine is that my particular NPP is either wired wrong and not useing the fuse or jumping the fuse wich I doubt. Either way I just gave up and put it back and said screw it.

QUICK question

I know this post is old I just need one person to help me. I pulled my fuse a while ago when I first got the car. The valves are open when you first start the car should they stay open even when the car warms up?? because my close. if not how can I fix it.

Thanks

They should never close. Are you sure you pulled the right fuse? You car will quiet down once it warms up. Are you mistaking this for closing? It's fuse 51 if I'm not mistaken.
