I don't like it. I know how to hold a car on a hill WITH THE BRAKE. I keep on killing the engine or darting out when the brake releases. Found out todagy you can dismiss this feature when the light turns green

I've driven stick cars over 40 years. I like this feature on mine & don't find it obtrusive at all. Hills all over the place here. I didn't notice I had to change my take off style either: your on a hill so you have to rev it a bit & slip the clutch to avoid stalling, & it overcomes the e-brake seamlessly for me.

Like it!
You know, when some asshole is on your ass at a light on a hill, it comes in handy. And I have driven manuals since the 60's. I absolutely hate people who pull right up my ass when I'm stopped at a red light.

Logically, it makes sense; however, I am uneasy about it. I like to get my RPM up right away and take off, I am afraid that the brake will still be engaged when I get up and go.

Don't be afraid of it. It isn't a big deal, you will notice the info screen message more then the actual feeling when the car takes off. I like it personally. Pretty unnoticeable to me when taking off, but instead of the car slightly going backwards with the clutch in while you are just starting to move on a hill, it stays put until you engage the clutch friction point & moves forward.

The first few thousand miles, I hated it. It felt very intrusive and I stalled a couple times as a result of not expecting it. However since about 3k miles, it freels less intrusive and actually seems to be calibrated well to my driving style. That said, I still prefer the feel of a mechanical parking brake.
