According to GM Yes on the driveline.
But there are no Warranty police coming to your house checking your car. We don't buy these cars to keep them all stock. You must first have a major failure, like an engine or trans or rear, then they will scan the computer and look at the flash counter to see if it matches their records. They will make a determination based on the failure, if it can be linked to computer reflash or if it was a manufacturer defect, then they will decide if they will deny you a repair or fix it.

If you aren't prepared to pay don't play. But if you can afford to play and you want to play then arbitrarily waiting for your warranty to expire makes no sense.

Would there be a way to make "sport mode " behave differently from " touring" ? Such as better acceleration , performance shifting more often or shifting at the best time for accelerating as opposed to MPG? I would really enjoy sport mode to not just affect my steering but my tranny, engine and better performance with less worry on mpg. I mainly keep my car in sport mode. If touring mode could be about MPG and road trips, could I have sport mode be about sportiness and the pleasure of driving? Or is it one or the other mode can only be tuned?

Part throttle and full throttle shift point tables are different between Snow/Touring and Sport/Track so it's just a matter of modifying the tables appropriately. You would want your WOT shift points to be the same between all of them as your torque curve will dictate where those should be. Part throttle will be changing the upshift and downshift points to preference.

Ah I see...would a dyno tune be able to do that?

A dyno tune isn't needed for the purposes of modifying shift points. Now if you were to change the torque curve significantly a dyno run would be beneficial to get the shift points at WOT correct. If you aren't comfortable using HP Tuners yourself then yes you would need to go pay a tuner to make the changes for you. I'm not at all against going to a tuner but there are some things that you really can do yourself if you just take the time to educate yourself before making changes.

I'm using the trifecta tune. You will notice it. Whether that's is due to any changes in the ecu or from the TCM. I can't say since I didn't do any dyno testing. It fixes the dead zone at start of throttle and allows for turning afm off with sport mode and on in touring if you want.

Tune for 2017 3.6 - New here
Whats up guys. This may of been mentioned already but I cant seem to find it. Anyone know of a tune available for a 2017 3.6? I've read older posts months ago saying they were being unlocked. Anyone know of reliable companies that offer this yet? Diablo not yet, HP seems to be a pain in the ass with sending the PCM to be unlocked...
Just wondering if anyone knew of a tune that I can do myself which has been verified to work. Thanks in advance. P.S. just looking for basic performance tuning. |
