However, what you were doing was casting shadow and doubt over something that has none....at all. Sharing experience is one thing. Even when that experience isn't even your own. But saying you doubt a claim we make is a lie, is entirely another thing. Which is why we felt compelled to post and clarify things. In any case, sorry for the thread-jack everyone! When choosing a tuner for the LTG engine, make sure you pick someone that has lots and lots of first hand experience with it. It's a very finicky engine. Whoever touches your 2.0T better have the experience to know what they are doing. There aren't any 'dyno shops' that have that experience under their belt to our knowledge. Let alone offer a comprehensive calibration for the transmission as well, if AT equipped, that is. We enjoy this community and the members that are part of it. Have fun modding your vehicles, however you choose to do so ![]() PS Anyone have the Atak version of the Borla exhaust for the LTG yet? Sounds pretty amazing we think

Vermont Tuning or most any shop that has done extensive work on the ATS will have sufficient knowledge now I will agree the new A8 Transmission is a new hurdle along with the security pin needed. I don't think anyone has enough comprehensive experience period on these cars no matter who they are because you can't use the same car to compare to another when tuning these 100% and they are relatively new outside of you and other larger named shops it'll be hit or miss on a companies experience. I will agree there's a lot more then people think to be had from these LTG's. I don't have the Borla went with the Flowmaster American Thunder just liked it better everyone has their own tastes.

Seems to be lots of support for people to go get a 'dyno tune' on this forum instead because it's 'better'. But that doesnt really apply to the LTG as it would, say the LT1, because shops simply don't have the experience with the LTG. We think this mantra is due to the Camaro platform in general and the way mods etc, are usually approached. But, that shouldn't be applied to the LTG, necessarily. We've seen many dyno tuned LTG engines end up with popped motors just a few months after their dyno tune. Sure, they get these incredible performance numbers out of it, but it doesnt last. That strategy only applies to the "pay to play" folks who have the cash to keep going after a catastrophic failure like that ![]() How do you like the flowmaster system? How would you compare it to the Borla in terms of sound? Louder, deeper, more raw, etc? |

I fully know a dyno tune will get me more and when I do Cams and an upgraded turbo w/better fuel pump I will most definitely get a dyno tune. Probably with Brian from Vermont Tuning support because he knows these cars.

We'll keep an eye out for your 'review thread/thoughts on the exhaust'. The Camaro is the first LTG vehicle to get large reputable companies to develop a full exhaust for it. There were 1 or 2 companies release something for the LTG ATS but Flowmaster and Borla are bigger players so it's exciting to see what solutions they come up with. |
