Given the nature of your questions I'd suggest you contact a tuner thay tunes our platform. Vermont tuning, ZZP, Trifecta, TRS FAB etc.

They have tunes for our platform already and likely can accommodate mods.

I had HP TUNERS and had a higher than novice understanding of how to tune the platform I used to play with (LS Engjnes). Instead of learning to tune this new platform right off the bat I'm gonna let a professional tuner take care of the tuning when I decide to get a tune.

I'm more or so considering Vermont tuning though I haven't put too much thought into it lately.
Ok gotcha. That makes a lot more sense now. I get what your saying. So Then in that case I will probably end up going with a tune for our cars already from either Trifecta or Vermont. I have done most of the research through there tunes so far. Thanks for the info helps out a lot.

A question I ponder as well. I also want to enlist a professional tuner who I can grow with and communicate with and log with and eventually take over the tuning from.

Some send you a device called autocal. Which believe is the hardware for efilive. So you could likely buy efilive and view your logs. Some use a type of tuning called ipf tuning. I don't know much about it though.

I think most of the companies send you a piece of hardware that is capable of logging. You can send your logs to the tuner via email and they can make changes.

You are gambling with your warranty with all of this though.

Which in my last two vehicles was somthing I was prepared to do. Both trucks I had voided the warranty immediately. The first truck I blew a piston within 6000 miles. All on my dime. An aftermarket tune was to blame technically. A little too lean AFR and the turning off of knock sensors).

You can revert back to stock tune on these engines with a lot less detection from the dealership. It's still a gamble.

I think getting a good tune is 100% worth it.

Here's Vermont Tuning's answer to my question regarding tuning wether it helps clear anything up or not it depends on your knowledge what I took away is you can now tune a 2017 but the reason it's on different cars is because of the new security GM put in this is likely in response to people being able to hack onstar enabled wifi vehicles maybe?

Hi Kevin,

We are working on an update for the 2017 model year to accommodate the new changes. *What it will likely*require is connecting the handheld in pass-thru mode for the initial tune (this means you connect it to *a USB connection on*a PC/laptop while also connected to the vehicle). *Once we do this one time you will not need the computer/internet connection afterwards. *The reason is that GM has implemented a unique encrypted*pin code for every vehicle in 2017 and we need to retrieve the code from the GM server, but we*only need to do this*one time and then we can save the code in your handheld. *I am also a dealer for HPTuners and that is how they are handling it now.

Cheers,

Agreed

Coming from a Mazdaspeed3 I was constantly logging and constantly communicating with my pro-tuner through email. The Cobb made it really easy to log and view them on my computer. I was hoping to find a setup like that....

Would love if cobb stepped up with their handheld for our platform; they offer a tuner for the ecoboost stang i believe; so it's probably not a stretch they might already be in development

Agreed, I always felt like their hardware was some of the most convenient in the industry. Unfortunately they have started doing some strange new things with their aoftware, requiring training and locking it to individual users and stuff like that.

I like how with HP TUNERS you can add extra signals into their DAQ but I wish it had a convenient live display instead of needing a laptop to do live displays.

Yep. I came from a genwin Mazdaspeed3 and my tuner, Rob at Hypnotic, explained it to me at some point.
Were you 3 or 6?

TRIFECTA was the first to come to market with a solution for the new security measures GM put in place on the controllers. We can, and do, definitely support the LGX and LTG Camaro fully for 2016 and we are working on finalizing our offering for the 2017MY.

In fact, there are several member son the forums, both LGX and LTG owners alike, that currently have our calibration installed.

So you don't currently offer 2017 full support but your site says you do.

We fully support the MT, so we do have a solution for the 2017MY. The AT is in the final stages of dev.

It seems you simply wish to challenge anything we say, as, your original post was meant to specifically call into question our solution for the security measures GM has in place now, which we corrected and proved as an incorrect statement.

Now, you challenge the veracity of our support for the 2017MY due to wording of our packages and marketing material.

Did TRIFECTA do something to upset you?

Not me directly just a lot of friends from Camaro5.com when you guys went dark. Not saying you or your tune is bad, but I haven't heard much in the way of ya we screwed a few of you sorry, either over there. Like I said I do know some that love your tune but I want people to make informed decisions history is exactly that but history can repeat itself. That's what these types of forums are for to help people know what's out there and for people to voice their experiences and let others know of past issues. There's a reason Fabberge is silent on Camaro5.com after what they did to the donor car for the TT LLT. Their LFX TT is awesome but like I stated people should know every side when making a decision that can potentially cause an issue later on. If the mods asked me to stop I would gladly do that because I respect the job they do but I hope they'd recognize why I do it.
