I can get the installation done for 750 and the tune for 500 from a very popular speed shop locally to me. I only need to purchase all the parts.

That's pretty good considering all that's involved on these cars. I know you have to pull the heads to change the lifters on the A8 cars to get rid of afm which is a requirement with most cams, and the rtv or whatever it is that's used for all the gaskets is apparently a pain too

Might be better off checking the corvette forums. They have more time with the LT1.

I'm going to chime in considering I might have the most modified 6th gen LT1 at the moment while retaining natural aspiration. Drivability is a moot point. While its not my daily driver I have already taken several long trips with the car and have had no issues. Driving around town is similar to how it was stock. Except for the fact everyone is ooh'ing and ahh'ing at the car because its loud asf, lol. That's another plus: driving downtown with the windows down. While supercharging is easy power and sometimes cheaper, you can't replace that beautiful noise.

Durability: I've taken it on the local track a few times and haven't had any issues. And I rag on it out there. Also some drag racing events here and there.

But this all depends on who you're having it done by. You get what you pay for. Go to someone reputable with the Gen V motors and you won't regret it.
