According to who? I've seen this on multiple cars with multiple fuel brands used including top tier. Now if it has to do with ethanol mix that would be news to me.

So I have learned that my 1SS and the 2SS have different cruise control buttons. I'm glad I have a cancel button. I use it all the time.

Yup here is a video of my son and I racing at midnight mayhem. He drives a 2015 2LT and obviously mine a 2016 2SS. Sorry if video quality sucks but you can hear that normal back fire. I had a few gallons of 100 octane in there as well, so I think it's a little more audible than it might normally be.

Ok got the miss fire at idle, been looking for that for a few days now. Guess it's normal-ish?

Yeah pretty normal, the LT1 is not a smooth engine at idle. It's fairly rough ...;it lopes a lot of comments on the Corvette sites when it came out...;;

It absolutely is the ethanol mix. Doesn't matter on brand.

One of the byproducts of combustion is plain ol' H20, no matter what the gasoline.

Excellent idea Glen. Mods should make this a sticky.

Good thread, thanks for posting this, as I always want to compare what I noticed to make sure mine is behaving! I also wanted to confirm some of the original list, and my experiences for other new guys as well:

-Cold idle "miss". I also have 2 LS1 cars that do the same thing, they all smooth out when warmed up.

-6 speed 2SS also rattle, when you push the clutch in at low speed in 1st gear. Both of my T56 4th gen cars also did this, and it is because of the springs in the clutch as said previously.

-Black water/soot from the exhaust on a cold start is something I've also noticed on my 2SS, again the 4th gens did the same. Condensation + a bit of soot.

-The 2SS also has the "numb" throttle, with the 6 speed, I like it. (since someone asked) It makes it much easier to get going from a stop and roll into the throttle. At least our electric throttle isn't just an on an off switch like my SRT8 felt.

-Oil pressure, 30psi hot idle (40psi cold idle), 40psi cruise, haven't gone WOT in it yet. I understand the LT1 has a variable displacement pump. Pressure doesn't run near as high as my LS1 cars when cold.

-Coolant, my gauge also goes to 180* around 30 seconds after run time.

-Ticking, I notice a tick at idle, which I imagine as said is partly due to DI, and possibly the thinner Tri-Y looking manifolds. That said I don't notice any lifter tap like the previous generation GM motors. The LT1 is MUCH quieter.

-NPP (dual mode exhaust) rattle. None on mine yet with 330 miles. I've seen several posts about this being dry NPP actuators that will be lubricated or replaced if taken to a dealer. I keep the exhaust set to track mode, it sounds amazing and fairly loud on cold starts, then gets much quieter after about 30-45 seconds.

-Brake pedal feel, my 2SS has the 4 piston Bremos, which look similar to the Brembos on my SRT8. The initial brake pedal travel doesn't seem to provide much bite, but further travel ramps up bite, and bleeds speed very quickly. My SRT8 was much more touchy. I prefer the SS pedal feel for better control.

About the miss fire at idle in cold, just a question about the way you starts the car:

Opt A: during the car completely OFF

1) Press the pedal, and during...

2) You press the button to start the car.

Opt B: during the car completely OFF

1) Press once the start button, so you take the car to the Accessories mode.

2) When the lights of the cluster finish the test mode, you press the pedal...

3) And then press the button to start the car.

During which way you notice the miss fire? If it's the first, try the second one and let us know the results.

You don't have to press the pedal on any of the new cars. It doesn't do any good , system self actuates without you using the pedal.

Don't overthink it too much, get in the car, push the start button, when the car starts, let the needles stabilize , then drive.

In the A8 you need to press the brake pedal to start the engine. If you don't, the car goes to the accessories mode.

Not sure if it's needed in the manual.
