All my early cars & performance cars through the years have been manual. I used to race Moto-X bikes long before I got a drivers license at 16 & found moving to a stick car (my first car was a 61 Triumph TR3) was easy.

When I went looking for my 2SS, nothing around here had an automatic, so even with my sore left knee, stick it is! Easy clutch action & great Tremec transmission make this one easy. I never use the rev matching, don't see the need.

This car is my first manual car I've ever owned. I work at a tire and auto shop so I learned how to drive it there after stalling a customers car thinking I could do it no problem because I knew how it worked. knowing how it works is not the same as actually doing it...

I plan on learning to drive a stick shift in the next few months. I'm 23 so my first 2 cars were automatic, I know the concept because my mom always had manual cars(which she loves). My husband doesn't want me to get a manual Camaro, I want to because it's a little cheaper, but I also want remote start lol.

I love the sound of rev matching, and think shifting is part of the experience of driving a performance car. But to each, his or her own. Whichever, you are driving one bad a$$ machine.

I find whenever I'm in an auto I tend to get distracted much easier and my driving suffers. not sure if others feel this aswell but this is the situation for myself. I've never had my own auto, and I've got a little over 1/2 million kilometres driven on manuals in my 12 years of driving.

Here in the UK its pretty much always been manual transmission as a first choice !
( theres always been exceptions ) but up until fairly recently (the last 15-20 years) more and more cars are auto these days over here . I drive a BMW with an 8 speed auto with paddles but test driving a 2016 SS recently with a stick is a blast and thats why mines on order. !! Now the 2017 ZL1 with that 10 speed auto ? thats a different story altogether !!!!

Some years ago I had wanted a 2002 Camaro SS and there was one around and the guy from the dealership basically showed me how to drive it, he let me drive around with it a little bit. A few years later I bought a manual truck, not really knowing how to drive a manual well, but good enough to at least get it home. When I get a Camaro SS next year it'll be a 6 spd.

When I met my wife she owned a manual transmission pick-up with Poi-Dog and Grateful Dead stickers on the back. Had to meet that girl.

I've owned mostly manual cars so she can still drive and isn't afraid to jump on it either. Manuals are great but I am enjoying this A8. Different experience

Once you get that far, then its time to turn off the rev matching. That's when driving a manual becomes really satisfying. Nothing like performing the perfect downshift, or heel-toe while braking.

Not sure that was the "stick" he was referring to...
