Manual everyday all day for me!! But if you're going to be doing a lot of drag racing I suggest the A8 since you can be more consistent, easier to launch, etc.

If it's your daily and you see a lot of freeway traffic, auto would also be the better choice. All depends on your preference, what you are willing to tolerate.

Can't go wrong with either tranny!

With kids, I find the A8 works better for me, because the little ones always need something and if it's just me, that can be more than challenging without also shifting too. . In an SS, I have found the A8 to be my preferred Trans. Drove both and the insanely fast smooth shifting when accelerating hard sold me.

Its all a matter of personal taste with the transmission. For me there was never a doubt as to the transmission I wanted the A8 is faster. The whole disconnected with the car bit you hear I don't understand. I traded in a 2016 Subaru STI for this Camaro and it was a manual. I don't miss shifting one lil bit you can keep it. Todays automatic is light years ahead of the traditional 4 speed autos of the 4th gens and my 4th gen was also an automatic.

Yeah sounds sensible enough to just test fit the family.

I've also fit a forward facing seat with a 5 y/o in there. That fit much easier.

Stroller, not so much. The opening for the trunk is rather small. We have a BOB stoller which doesnt fit due to the trunk opening size. I haven't tried out umbrella stoller yet, that might just fit.

Bring both with you to the dealership. I only brought the car seat, so the wife approved! No regrets from me though!
That is the same I am using for twins. I am not even going to try to fit my twins stroller in there. I'll figure something out.

Originally I was buyingd a Ford Explorer Sport (Twinturbo), wife would get it in 3 years and I could go back to a fun car. But, she decided she didn't want the Explorer and told me to get whatever car I wanted ...

Done... but she gets to pick out her SUV

I'll take a car seat down with the base, but won't worry about the stroller. Umbrella strollers are small.

Thanks for the info gents. I am leaning towards the A8, because it is quicker and I love paddle shifters. How is the A8 on the top end / freeway, shame the 5.0 riding on my rear?

What about modifications? Supercharger and what have you, any issues with that and the A8? What I read on the 8L90p is that it can handle up to 738 lbs of torque? Who is the 'goto' for tuning these cars with the A8?

Anything is possible I guess but I mainly do highway rolls and almost never digs. On rolls it always comes down to the driver and mods. Mine is getting boosted, cammed, etc. Will take a damn good driver mod and boosted auto to take me ;-)

Nobody considers the reliability factor which favors the manual. I think other factors considered its a wash vs. the A8, but the A10 looks to be the game changer.

I'd hate to be in the market for a ZL1 right now.

Keep the fluid flushed and an auto trans will last a long time - most owners never do it

Test drove a 16 yesterday. The size of the trunk opening is fairly laughable. Stroller would never fit, but a pair of umbrella strollers would. Car seat, guess if the babies don't have legs.

I'll make it work somehow.

I brought my 12 year old daughter (both my girls have different biological father's than myself) to the dealership to see if she'd fit in the back seat. She's about 5"3. That told me our 6 year old daughter would fit as well.

Given that the girls biological father's are over 6'5"...it's only a matter of time before they won't fit in the back seats.

But anyone under 5'5 should fit. The worst part about having a child back there is that their feet don't touch the ground. They more or less line up with their foot print aimed directly at the back of the front seats :( so be sure to get them to take their shoes off once they get in lol. That's my policy with the little one!

Surprised your leaving Subaru. It was the camaro or a new WRX SPORT for me.
