This is for stick shift only, put it in track mode, press tc button twice until it goes into competitive mode, go 30 mph in first gear, hold it there for a couple seconds then mad it. Be careful tho, it might spin all through first, this is a trick i learned and honestly feels like its got 600hp because its so violent with tc and track mode at 30mph.

Very strange. I have driven my friends 2012 5.0 which is a manual, and I now own a 2016 Camaro 1SS A8 which feels much faster than his car.

The A8 makes this car a rocket IMO because it shifts quick. I believe 5th gear is 1:1 in the A8 so we have a big torque multiplier in gears 1-4, combine that with how fast it shifts it is really kind of ridiculous for street driving. The ZL1 is going to be an absolute beast with that A10 in it.

Yes the popping noise came from the front only at very slow speeds (under 5 mph). Very noticeable. Initially my front strut mount was replaced with no help. Then both struts were replace after attempt 3. Initially problem completely resolved however after about 400 miles sounds has returned however sigficantly diminished. Please let me know if you have any questions as this drove me crazy. No I am just waiting for sounds to worsen or become more noticeable about binging it in for attemp 4.

When I test drove a SS back in May, the sensation of acceleration wasn't there, but it was accelerating quickly as I was at 40 MPH in no time. Would keep my eyes on the road as I accelerated, let off when I thought I was going 30 MPH, looked at the HUD, said 40 MPH.

That is because the chassis with MRC keeps the car so planted. The usual sensations we feel when we punch it( front lifting, butt squatting, etc) aren't there because the Camaro remains level with the very little body roll.

Not sure if that is what you're experiencing, but that was my impression of how the SS feels.

Sorry to hear about all your problems... there are bound to be a few lemons with any mass produced product. Hope you get them resolved or GM buys back the car so you don't lose money.

Regarding acceleration, the car hits hard from 3.5k RPM and pulls all the way to redline. All tests have shown the car to be noticeably faster than the competition - I mean it's faster than an M4, and that thing is light and has all the damn torque. I agree with others; dyno it, time a 0-60 or 1/4 mile run, or test drive another 6th gen. Any of those tests should show you if your car is performing as it should.

Unfortunately this is what the Internet is good at. People expressing opinions without regard for the way their commentary might make others feel.

The OP feels his car doesn't pull. We can accept that as fact though even that is somewhat of a vague statement. Pulls compared to what? Could their be an issue? Yes. Is it gearing? Maybe. I think you get my point.
To say the car is a lemon, GM sucks, first year model runs have bugs etc is all interpretation and reaction to the performance issue.

Speaking in absolutes and generalities typically gets us into trouble.

The OP had a legitimate question so let's put our heads together and ask some pointed questions to determine what is going on.

Example
What speed were you driving at the time?
What rpm was the motor turning?
What level of throttle position did you have at the time?
How long did it take to accelerate and what was the rpm when you changed gear?
Does the exact same model perform identically?

These are only a start but we could all benefit from relaxing before hitting the post reply button. Lol

Any chance of low octane or even bad gasoline?

Coming from a couple of Gen 5's that I thought pulled plenty, I couldn't imagine someone thinking my 16 SS doesn't pull, so something has to be wrong I would think.

If I floor my automatic at ~35mph it takes about 1.6s before it down shifts completely into gear and I feel any pull. Dealer said it's normal. I'm going to test drive some on Tuesday.

Thanks again for everyone comments. At lower gears it does feel noticibly faster with full acceleration. At higher gears (3rd thru 5th) not so much despite being at 4 to 5 K rpms. It very well could be the suspension relative to my 5.0 mustang. Also I did recently test drive a 2017 SS which at least subjectively more pull ( not a crazy diff buy my drive was limited)

If anyone lives near the Grand Rapids MI area I would love to meet up and compare rides. I would be happy to drive to meet up!

In touring mode? I'd imagine shift programming is very different between the different drive modes. That's on top of the already delayed throttle response in that mode. I would try the same thing in track or competition modes.

You'll really have to time a run, preferably 1/4 mile, for us to be able to help you without actually driving your car. At least record a 0-60 time with the on-board computer (it does 1/4 mile as well). A 5.0 Mustang without forced induction would need some serious mods to keep up with a stock 6th gen.

For sure in sport. I feel it's the nearly the same in track, I'll have to time it and report back.
