At this point, as I've been a bit of a sh!t-disturber, they won't bring me in to finalize, until GM releases the prices of the options...Again, I don't know why they have a price for the car and not the options or accessories.

Overall, an f'ed up pricing, ordering and distribution model.
My car is still in Lansing, as far as I know.....!
There's no way it's going to be a $200 increase, since the U.S. pricing was $605 on each trim level, and exchange still has to be taken into account.

Interesting how NO ONE on this side of the border has any clue and/or timeframe for Canadian pricing.
At this point, the ZL1 pricing will come out sooner, with the release in August.

Hey Frank.

I totally agree. However, I am only relaying what I was being told… Therefore, I say it with trepadation and caution….

All they can do is apologize over and over. Then, the lady at GM actually suggested that I get "some free swag "… Yep, like a free hat and t-shirt will make up for all of this....

At this point, I'm really only posting what I think is relevant to all.

I could go on and on about all the crazy messed up communication between me and them, but it would only come off like even more of a soap opera than it actually is.....

Well, another week has come and gone.....and still no official pricing yet.......

My buddy Laurence (scrape) actually gave up and bought a Challenger SRT 392 (beautiful car). He went from ordering, to his driveway in just over 1 month!

Meanwhile, since March......

Goodyear is proud to advertise 12,000 hours of testing on this Camaro and I honestly can say my expectations were exceeded enough not to sell them and get a better tire. I plan on swapping to a cheaper better tire and I am sure a lot of people would do the same as well. For a couple of reasons we put run flats on from the factory. If you want a long rant on why I can upon request. If you want a run flat kit I can get you one. Just PM me

I think that if you'd be willing to post up the '17 prices, as a 'sticky' (mods to assist), that'd be great!

Also, if you could advise re any restraints, etc, also great.
I wouldn't ask that you offer up your valuable time to look up random Workbenches, or anything like that....

Again, thanks for offering to help.
I think that we all agree that GM needs to offer up official support for us Canucks that are on this site....!

Cheers, Paul.
I coudnt agree more that we need all the help we can get up here especially when it comes to performance cars. I myself have been embarrassed by the process to get information. I have been working tirelessly on getting info on the cold air intake system most recently and will send you 17MY pricing the second it lands on my workbench

If your dealership is a good one they are excited about the product. Things are changing in the allotment of vehicles to Canada as of April this new program has been implemented which takes only demand and time to sell a unit in days into consideration. Our dollar and historical figures are no longer in the equation.

It is now coming up on two weeks since I picked mine up and poor sstoronto's car is still stuck in Lansing even though both of our cars were built 2 days apart. GM is so messed up.

Motorhead,

Do you know the typical shipping time to the dealer once the car is built in Lansing?

I have one on order from a dealer near Hamilton, supposed to be built next week.

Thanks

No Frank. I ended up going to the competition after getting the runaround at the same dealership as sstoronto and knowing that it was nearly impossible to get one I gave up. So I ordered a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 in late May and got built roughly 2 days before sstoronto's car. Mine was delivered on the first week of July. The poor guy still has no pricing as of now which tells me that GM doesn't know what the hell they are doing. How can pricing take this long???
I work in the manufacturing industry and if our customer had to wait this long for our product, we are done. And our product cost about 2 Camaro 2SS'! Plus we can only build less than 200 pieces a year if we are lucky

I forgot you went with the Challenger, which by the way is a great car, and even better when you get it in 6 weeks.
I understand about manufacturing companies who can't provide the customer with proper information. I guess GM thinks they're untouchable in this industry.
They forget that GM U.S. pulls the strings and dictates what happens to the organization, and GM Canada is nothing more than a pawn.

They better watch the U.S. election, whoever gets in as President, might force Canadian auto manufacturing to disappear all together.

Thanks Frank. GM still needs to remember that Government of Canada and the US Government bailed them out and should tread carefully. Pawn or no pawn, the Greater Toronto Area as well as any major city in Canada for that fact has a huge customer basis. Sure we are no Los Angeles or Miami but there is a market for their cars here.

Maintain the exhaust sound on the V6

Morning all,

I'm told you can maintain the sound of the NPP dual mode exhaust system by removing a fuse.

Is this true and can anyone tell me which one and where its located.

Also by doing this can it give you any problems in the future.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

If the infotainment system is the same as the one I have in my C7, look for a section for "sound management" and there you should find an option on what sound you want on a regular basis.

In regards to the fuse pull, I don't like doing things like that, but others have and haven't had any issues.
Here is a link to a thread about fuse pull:
