Did you know there's a forum that people go to to share their issues?

1203 miles and the only issue I had was with an interior piece. That got taken care of and since then nothing. Just the sweet sounds of murica all over the streets XD

I'll start with the good stuff first, The car drives really well and Performance is great stock. It is very comfortable and the technology is great.
Now the issues:
1. Paint is very brittle and comes off easily, pits if you look at it.
2. Engine calibration leaves a lot to be desired for a factory tune, not the best low speed drivability or cold start drivability.
3. Center console bezel is warped and wont stay in place, keeps popping out of place.
4. Drivers door front edge touches back for fender and it has rubbed to paint of both edges.
5. Dash alignment on the drivers side is off where it meets the door panel when the door is closed.
6. Mystery clunk noise in driveline when taking off quickly, only intermittent, haven't located.
7. Trunk and hood gaps are not as good as either of my 3 5th gens.
8. Upper right windshield frame corner metal frame has damage/flaw under the paint.
9. Fronts seats don't recline far back enough.
10. Right front seat has a delay and pop sound when adjusting seat back.
11. The car has more road noise than my 15 1LE. I expected a quieter cabin.

I have 2000 miles on it, I clear bra'ed the entire frontend at time of purchase, complete hood and fenders. The front end paint is perfect. Any parts that were not clear bra covered are pitting and flaking. Met with the dealer and GM rep and they are going to paint it, as well as fix all the other concerns. We all agreed it will be done to my satisfaction and they will be re-applying the clear bra afterwards.

When I took delivery I noticed a lot of flaws in the clear in several areas which I had my paint correction specialist fix and seal before the clear bra was installed. My car was a pre order that was built on the 6th day of production and was held for 2.5 months for QC as they put it. In actuality it was to repair defects before shipping. That's were the paint flaws came from, fender covers rubbing the paint on a dirty car. It had 6 hours of idle time on it and had burned 12.9 gallons of gas with only 12 miles on the odometer.

I love driving the car, I hate all the quality issues. The later built cars seem to be better, but overall I am less than satisfied.

I dont see the thread but the most worrisome thing I have observed is a multi page thread(likely moved to a dead forum section no one goes to, now) about the engine holding RPMs in neutral and even after shifting into drive, without touching the throttle.

MULTIPLE people chimed in and came to the thread to post they had the same experience, and dismissed that it was a cold start issue through several anecdotes. Not sure where that one ended.

Perfectly worded.

Those are the words I told to myself too. Life is to short and if you can order one then go for it. I was planning on waiting like you, but after I drove one and had a goofy smile on my face, and I just ordered it. First year blues be dammed.

Remember that the people being vocal about the issues are most likely the minority. Everyone who doesn't have issues doesn't have much to say in that manner and thus won't post.

First post, but just my 2 cents.
2016 Nightfall gray 2SS. This is one bad ass car. No problems caused by manufacturing, only a couple blemishes caused by careless shoppers while at dealer. Scratched trim pieces replaced no questions asked.
I have found a dealer that is proud of these cars in a competitive market and are easy to work with if needed. There will always be upgrades, changes, improvements, options to wait for. Enjoy life, drive one now.

Good luck.

Almost 9000 miles.
No major issues.
Would buy it again in a heartbeat.
If you are concerned about possible problems,
Check out any other car forum.
Same issues.
Remember, out of 10s of thousands of cars sold, usually only people who have issues will post.
Most people don't.
Don't misout on this car.
No other car on the planet has this level of style and performance for such a low price.
In the 70's and 80s only Supercars had 400+
Horsepower and 0 to 60 in just over 4 seconds!
Great times we live in.
