HP aint cheap nowadays. A sideline to FI with headers is the headers generally reduce the actual boost a little bit while holding the power up. You can always pully to get the boost back if you want too and realize more power. Lots of choices a guy can make...

As technology progresses it is getting harder and harder to find those cheap bolt ons that make power easy.
Keep in mind ARH is 100% high grade stainless and made in the USA. I think it is a great value. Ted.

![]() True Dat. I have purchased Stainless Cat-back systems for other cars. Nothing like a True Stainless system front to back. These were approx. $600-$800 for just a single exhaust. I can appreciate the amount of material used in the Camaros Dual System. The price is right.

I'm curious since I have an A8, does anyone know if the tune disables AFM/v4 mode?
Thanks

The included Magnuson tune does not disable it, so I think a custom tune could keep it or not.

Were the ARH dyno numbers with or without a tune? I'd actually be a little surprised to see a 5% increase with just exhaust and no intake or tune. The numbers the C7 crowd is seeing from minor bolt-ons are not that high. Wonder why the Camaro would get more return on a similar upgrade -- unless maybe that is where GM restricted to put out a 5hp lower rating?

They sound great too. There's nothing like watching some lady in her minivan jump out of her skin when you hit the gas
It's like having your high beams auto flash people in front you on the highway...everyone gets out of your way. If you want it quiet and have the NPP, just grab one of those Forza controllers and map it to your homelink buttons. It's been working great for me and you get the best of both worlds.

I just got new wheels and tires, which are very sticky. I would highly recommend making sure you're in competitive mode if you do launch, since it turns off TC (or just turn off TC). It could save you from causing damage. I tried it twice so far with my new set up. The first time I was in competitive mode and the tires barely spun. It took off like a rocket, but I was playing it cautious and didn't drop the clutch hard enough to trigger the 0-60 timer. I wish it would've worked because it was like being shot through a cannon lol. The second time I was at a light turning onto a 4 lane road with a speed limit of 50. The road was really well paved and I had a clear straight shot. When the light changed I dropped the clutch a little more aggressively and started to feel some wheel hop, so I let off right away. With larger, stickier tires you've got to be careful. I can count the number of times I've taken off hard on one hand, but I think I'm still going to look into upgrading my rear-end soon.

Out of curiosity on this setup, was the crushed exhaust just prior to the NPP muffler left as-is from the factory? I know on a stock car replacing it does nothing for HP, but didn't know if it could provide any gains whatsoever on a boosted setup. Maybe so, maybe not.

Uncle Ted!
You're killing me with the overlay but different scaling left side HP to right side TQ. I think that makes it look like the power comes on slower than it actually does. Funny that now the 1.7L guys are going to call 2.3L PD laggy. haha. |
