The simple fact is that in the real world it comes down to the driver. They are close enough to where even the slightest difference between driver skill will make the difference.
I'm pretty sure I can beat a good auto driver, that it would take an excellent one to beat me. But the auto is more consistent than I am. Sometimes, when I'm really try to push it her, i mess up and pull a mid 4, doubt the auto has the same deviation as a stick.

Wow, 3.6 sec. 0-60 is really quick. The best I've been able to do is 3.8.

What it means to him is that since one person in one car tricked their timer one time that anyone that runs a 0-60 faster than him doesn't count.

I think he is trying to imply the timer is crap.

Ender, thanks for the post. Even if the timer is close to being accurate it still goes to show what the car can do and in the end that is...... put a smile on your face!

I am in Palm desert. If u take the 10 east passed palm Springs late at night there is pretty much enough room to do ridiculous numbers without encountering another car.
The best spot is right at the border between palm desert and Phoenix.

Be sure you have all the pages enabled in the DIC settings menu. Some like 1/4 and Engine Idle time are off by default from the factory.

And if a dyno or radar gun are not calibrated they can be just as inaccurate. Some people spin the tires and still turn out bad 0-60 numbers. So no it isn't foolproof.
