Girth is the biggest factor is seat fit. I was getting close to 360lbs and 48" waist last spring (2015). Squeezing into an SS at the Auto Show must have looked amusing. Fast forward to the fall, now 280lbs, the 6th Gen was out and I fit better in so many ways. When you ass shrinks you get more headroom, LOL...
Currently at 225lbs and 6'4"', the current seating is phenomenal.
I think these seats would have the same design criteria. Problably 38" waist and 260ish would be the max. Anymore and you would start getting squeezed in too tight or spilling over the edges.
That's fantastic progress on your fitness! Good on ya!

They are very comfortable. I'm 6'0 215. The only issue is headroom especially if trying to sit in a racing position. I unfortunately bought mine with a sunroof and am now in the process of replacing my roof

Go sit in an ATS-V with recaros. (Can't believe this wasn't said yet)

Same platform, seats should be either the exact same, or really close.

That being said... As a former fat dude (was 6'1 and 295lbs at one point with a 35%+ bodyfat ), and now as a "big but athletic dude" (208lbs and 18-22% BF) - If I fit into GM recaros at my heaviest... you guys weighing 250-275 should be fine

It's possible fit might feel similar, but they certainly are quite different.

I think there may be some confusion over why the recaros are in there. It's not supposed to be ultimate comfort. Big puffy leather recliners are comfortable. The object of a track oriented seat is to hold you in place. If it's tight on your hips and shoulders it's doing it's job. The stock seats in my car are pretty comfortable. At the track they are a nightmare. I took a ride in a C5 with true racing seats. Were they comfortable? HELL NO! I couldn't move. The plus side? In high speed high G maneuvers, I didn't move.
The Recaros aren't true race seats nor are they comfy passenger car seats. I think they're trying to find the middle ground with them. Remember this is supposed to be the track package. You WANT a nice snug fit at the track.

The bolsters look about the same, and the seat size should be about the same over all as well... fit should be the same other than perhaps the ATS-V having a little more shoulder room as the bolsters extend a little higher up on the Camaro seats.

If you can fit in an ATS-V seat, you'll likely fit in a 6th gen 1LE/ZL1 seat

ATS-V Recaros are 16-way power adjustable so you can customize the fit to your body type. Unfortunately, I don't think we will get that kind of luxury in 1LE, although I wouldn't even think twice about paying the extra weight (and cost) penalty for having those seats.

I'll totally trade you my 1SS seats for your Recaros lol! I was so bummed the first year cars didn't have the option for the Recaros. I also had an ST and loved the Recaros on the track although the SS seats are much more supportive than they look.

Right? But you do get 100whp with a tune... I'm actually seriously considering getting an ATS-V right now. After insurance difference it's only about $70/month more (plus 12 additional payments).

LOL, you really don't think I know this? I had a full SCCA spec C5 Z06 track car for over a decade that I just sold last year. It had a full on race seat for the driver, side protection, basically metal with a 1" pad and a five point harness…

BUT the big difference is I was able to order the size that fit my body type. If my shoulders don't fit flush with the back of the seat (which is my issue in many "race" style seats) it is VERY uncomfortable and terrible for your back. Not to mention not as safe when tracking.

It's not an either-or situation. I have a Sparco racing seat in my '95 camaro that I can be in for 15-20 hours in a day and no issues. The first time I drove my Focus (Memphis to San Antonio - 800 miles) I was *dying*. The Sparco holds me in even better, too. The Focus Recaros are good, but they take some getting used to.
