I doubt 1LE will be a big seller. Especially this generation where the base SS is already a good handling car that is capable on the track and more than enough for the road. There are a small number of people who still buy manuals and even smaller number who go to the track.
The 1LE started as a secret option code for weekend racers and I think it's very cool that GM makes this car for us enthusiasts. Plus, resale should be good. |

A year ago, if someone would have told me that I'll be in a market for a Camaro, I would laugh in their face. Yet, here I am, waiting to give GM my money in exchange for a 1LE. |

I'm guessing the numbers will be similar % wise.
Sure you'll have those who opt for a 2SS or 1SS because it offers all the performance they will ever need but at the same time one of the big draws for me is the success and name the 5th gen 1LE made for itself. It "paved the way" for the 6th gen 1LE to improve on a great platform. I think that will help boost some sales. Being named MT Car of the year should bring some added attention to the camaro itself and help boost sales a bit. Then there is the fact that you can get a 1LE V6, If we are counting all 1LE optioned 6th gen camaros I think the V6 1LE sales might equal the SS 1LE sales, time will tell. Plus once track numbers come out and people see the performance value of a 6th gen 1LE vs. say a GT350, I have a feeling those considering a car for actual performance will be lining up to place orders. I know if I owned a GT350 and got my ass handed to me by a car costing $20k or so less I'd be pissed and no flat plane crank exhaust tone would sooth the pain of the price difference. I knew what a 5th gen 1LE was and never owned a 5th gen Camaro (i'm sure i'm in a minority there), saw a few on the street but never saw one stopped where i could talk to the owner, they are rare around here. But I like these "specialty cars that come from the factory with improvements I would consider making myself if I had bought a base model. The C6 Corvette Grand Sport is another of my favorite car designs. Give me the bigger tires, Bigger Brakes, Bigger fenders, I want that track prepped car look and feel, even if i never utilize it to its full capacity I want something more than a basic 1SS or 2SS. I would/ am still considering a 1SS as an option but I would still want/need to invest thousands in performance parts, rims, tires just to get to where I was happy with it being "special", I'm hoping the 2017 1LE will give me all that for less out of pocket cost than aftermarket and under warranty. And when someone comes up to you and recognizes the 1LE for what it is, you know they are a true enthusiast

Yeah, from what read is the PSS is the better all around tire. Better wear, better wet performance, less noise, etc. The only thing I heard is when you push them on track the Goodyears tend to stay stickier longer. They also cost about $120 less per tire but they don't last as long.

The 2015 1LE caught my eye last Spring and I was mulling it over between it and a Vette, and then I stumbled across the info on the 6th Gen launch. The more research I did on the Camaro, the more impressed I was. The challenge for the GM marketing team is to get the word out. |

As the tires coming on the new 1LE and ZL1 are a brand new design and compound made specifically for the Hipo Camaros, I think that will only be more true now. We will see, as there is no data on these GY's yet.

No problem. When I bought my 1LE in 2013 I didn't realize I was one of only 1500 folks or so that bought one that year. The sold a bit more in 2014 and 2015 but the number were still low overall. The 1LE package (mainly borrowed from the ZL1) is what turned the GEN5 Camaro into a track star. Based on how good the regular Gen6 is I am expecting the 1LE to blow everyone away.

I would think the V6 version would double the units of the V8 version , total around 5100 units.

I am in for the V8 but think it would pretty cool if the V6 version had identical options to the 1SS 1LE. 335HP and a couple hundreds pounds lighter than the 1SS 1LE and the same 1SS 1LE suspension, brakes, wheels and tires, would make for a pretty awesome sports car in the low to mid 30s.
