I drive a little over 5 miles to work. Depending on my right foot, the worst average MPG I've seen is 15 and a best of just over 18.

Why would someone with a 5 minute commute be worried about gas mileage? Of course its going to be terrible, the car isn't even warmed up by the time he's turning it off.

Have that much on the SS after just 4 months! Got a set of Pirelli winter tires for it and drove in the snow (with 300 lbs of sand in the trunk!). I'm in Healthcare and have to be at work every day regardless of the weather.

I drive it every day and love it... although it challenges my OCD a bit keeping it clean. which is why I had it wrapped in clear 3M pro series film.

Very very happy with it.
I am basically the same here other than my commute is 15 minutes of river driving.

Love it as a daily and will likely drive it in the snow unless it is a really bad snowfall.

I was watching Motor Week and in the Goss's Garage segment he had someone with a 2005 Corvette with 180,000 miles on it. Never needed any major repairs or rebuilds. Just proper maintenance. Pat Goss asked him why so many miles on a Corvette and he said he just loves the car, loves how it drives, and drives it all the time for work, every day, and even to get mulch or top soil at the home center.

I will daily my 2SS even in snow in CT. I did it in my RWD BMW 335i with snow tires. It handles pretty well even in heavy snow.

I don't know the weight distrubution on the camaro SS. I guess I will find out this year. lol

I'm new to the forum, just picked up my 2016 2SS M6 a week ago today after trading in my 2013 2LT RS automatic. The 2SS is my daily driver. I live is Los Angeles and my commute to work is 2 miles each way from my home and almost all of my driving is in bumper-to-bumper gridlock and stop sign to stop sign. The last time I drove stick as my DD was about 15 years ago so I'm getting used to it all over again.

The traffic here is absolutely horrific and there are moments where I wonder if I should have gone for the A8 but then there are those moments when the road opens up for just a moment and I get to experience the thrill of driving this machine and it's worth it.

So far I'm averaging 9 MPG (and I'm driving it like a granny!).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have a car seat in the back too.

My 1ss is my daily driver. Practical enough for me. I drive 22 miles each way to work. Get groceries and even took an atv wheel and tire to get repaired in it. All this with 3 10s in the trunk.

I DD my car 40 miles each way and it's been great. 4k miles and so far just that periodic annoying vanishing Drive Mode bug has been my only problem. It's happened about 4 times I think in 4000 miles, so that's not too bad.

I would never in a million years bring this car out in the snow, even with Blizzaks mounted. Even though the car has near perfect weight distribution, you have to account for it's torque to weight ratio and ground clearance. Can you do it? Yes, probably. Is it a good idea? Not really. There's a video on Jalopnik of them trying to drive a brand new gen6 with Pirelli snow tires (Soto Zero's I think?). That site has always preached that all you need is a good set of snow tires...google it to see how well that worked out for them.

In the Tri-State area they also use that corrosive salt alternative that's cheaper and more powerful for melting snow and ice. It'll wreak havoc on your car, especially your brake lines. Get your car washed often if you drive it in a place where they use this stuff.

I've got a 2012 Charger with AWD (100k miles on it) that I have a car seat in. I let my son eat in that car and that's not happening in the Camaro. So much easier to fit a car seat in a 4 door car than a sports car. In the winter, I mount Blizzaks on the stock Charger wheels and it's amazing in the snow. I'll let it take the abuse.
