I wish i could DD mine but I drive 100 miles everyday to work and back. I would be filling up the car way to often. That's what I get for living out in the country. but, I would not give it up for anything.

I know what you mean, but you can shut them all off. Hold down that button for like 5 sec or more until you see both lights come on dash, it turns off both TC & Stabilitrak. Word of caution: Do not do this on wet roads and punch it. But on dry, warm roads, in the manual, she stays pretty straight. I hate the nannies.

Mine is a DD too, I love it. It's makes going to work fun.

If you press the TC button twice, it goes into Competitive mode, which leaves Stabilitrak on but turns off TC, and allows for launch control (I have not tried launch control). TC button is the one in front of the drive mode rocker button in the console. But if you hold down TC button for 5 sec or more you will see both TC and Stabilitrak lights turn on in the dash. In competitive mode, I can sometimes feel a little throttle retarding or something, which I hate a computer telling me how to drive. But do not turn these off on wet roads. I did one time and punched it just to see and the back end went left pretty quick, I got out of it and it straightened up, but just be careful. On dry warm roads, with these nannies off if you're pointed straight and punch it, it will stay straight. Not sure about the autos though, I don't think they have LSD rear like the manuals. See operating manual for more info.

"Competitive Mode is an optional handling mode that allows increased performance while accelerating and cornering."

V8 Auto does, just a different axle ratio. We have the diff cooler as well.

V6 and T4 manual (only) does.

For you guys that DD your 2SS, does anybody here have a short commute? Going down back roads, I'm 5 minutes from work luckily, but wondering if the short drives will hurt the awesome MPG you're all showing.

Yes it would harm MPG as your engine won't have a chance to get to normal operating temperature. My commute from my old job was only 4 miles each way in my Saturn Aura with the 3.6 V6. My MPG was around 15-16 MPG with that commute. I normally would average 19 MPG-21 MPG before.

Your mpg will deteriorate as stated above, but not by much. When you cold start for the first time each day let it go away, then drive. Take advantage of CAGS to help you save gas too (if you're manual). If youre auto you have AFM so you'd be good there as well.

2SS Camaro A8 NPP Yellow

I purchased my 2SS in April 2016, using it as a DD at 200 miles a week back and forth to work. Love it pretty good on gas about 20 mpg average as long as I don't gun it a lot. Build date is 3/17/16 with no recalls as of yet. Changed the oil at 800 miles. I will be changing the Diff in the next week or so.
Seems to be a great car. I had a 2013 v6 Camaro before this one.

I do some spirited driving but no racing. Car cost to much to abuse it. I want to keep it for a long time.

my 2013 SS was my DD, even through winter. Never an issue, but I replaced the summer only tires.

Yes, drive 10 miles to & 10 from work. Gun it from time to time. Averaging 17.7 to 19 around town.
