We’re sorry you’ve been experiencing this connectivity concern with your new SS. This is certainly not what we like to hear, especially after you just brought your car home. Before taking your car to your dealer, you might try contacting our Infotainment team (855-478-7767), as they are able to assist with troubleshooting. If they are unable to resolve this issue, please feel free to send us a private message and we’d be happy to facilitate an appointment with your dealer. Kindly, Lauren E Chevrolet Customer Care |

Just got my car a week ago. At first I had problems too. Then I realized, I was connecting my phone too fast, or even before starting the car.
If you start the car and give it a sec before plugging in the phone, it seems to work no problem. I've tried this both ways several times and it seems to work this way no problem. I think it has to do with the car computer not being fully initialized. |

My S6 seems to have developed a crappy USB data contact. It's definitely phone-side as I can get the phone to show a data connection rather than charge when i apply pressure on the micro-usb side of the cable. This happens now on every cable I try. I wireless charge my device, Android Auto is basically the first time i've really used a cable on it.
So keep that in mind if you are having "my phone is charging but not being detected" issues. If your usb cable wiggles in any direction and you're having connection issues, try and find a cable that sits tight and doesn't move. You may need a different case that allows the cable to rest against to limit movement. At least this will make a connection stable if you manage to make one. One can only hope that someone makes a little USB dongle that bridges wifi and usb transparently for when android Auto goes wireless (looking at you google). |
