when I first heard about it I thought it would be a bit of a joke.... it was a pure adrenaline racing high.... something I doubt I will match with tracking when I get my 1LE or Z51....

lets say I bought a 2SS, than ordered the 1le? would I have a chance to drive and inspect it upon delivery to make my choice? i know I know not the smartest of choices but just curious if I wanted the best of both worlds

I'm not sure that any one dealer would let you order both cars and then let you decide which one you like better. Maybe if you have a very special relationship with a particular dealer but I'm sure the first 1LE's will be allocation based to dealerships. But I'm confident just about every dealership would be happy to take your fairly new SS in on a trade for a 1LE, BUT.... it will not be for what you paid for it.

I totally get people think this is a stupid thread but I just wanted to know, Its hard to fully explain but this summer is some great open time for me and I really want something muscle I have my sights set on the 1le, what would be my best option .......... as a trade in

option : 1 * 2SS * bad choice lose it all * still might end up with a 2SS though as I love the leather

option two * a used BOSS what would the dealer turn in loss on that be?

option 3 a used shelby 2011 ? same question as above?

* not to dis but I didnt like the way 5th gens drive so not considering that

How about a used Corvette? They would definitely hold their resell well as log as you buy it right. I had a 2002 C5 Z06 and it was a blast. Only weighed 3100 lbs and came with 405hp bone stock. It was in the 11s after I did cam, long tubes, intake and tune.

My dealer said allocation would not apply specifically to the 1LE because it is a package, not a model.

As long as a dealer has a CAMARO allocation a 1LE can be ordered the same as any other Camaro.

Having said that, I don't expect to see many sitting around on dealer lots.

OK, that makes sense to me. Then it would just matter if specific 1LE parts were on constraint or not.

Let's assume your monthly payments on 1SS will be $550/month if you put down $3,000 (round numbers). Let's also assume that 1LE will be delivered to you in February (8 months from now).

Your total payments for 1SS will be:
$3,000 + (8 * $550) = $7,400

That leaves us with about $27,100 left on the loan.

Let's say the car will be valued at $29,000 as a trade-in in excellent condition with low miles. That leaves you with $1,900 cash back into your pocket, so you essentially spent $5,500 in a course of 8 months (or $687.50/month).

Is it worth it to you?

Don't forget taxes and registration. Not to mention interest on the loan.

He factored interest because he added up the payments. Also, taxes are very state dependent due to rate differences and also whether a trade-in includes only having to pay the tax difference between the trade value and the new car price. That definitely adds to it, though.
