Is there a VIN checker for this issue yet?

The above pic of the fluid doesn't look abnormal for a first change. Fine particles are to be expected in a first change of the fluid as the parts break in. As long as there are no "chunks".

Just got back from dealer. They admitted that they put the wrong diff fluid in. They supposedly didn't see the service bulletin before changing my fluid. They flushed twice and put right stuff in.

I do not. GM released something based on many cars having the same issues/sounds coming from their rear diff. They realized that some cars had the wrong rear diff fluid in it. The bulletin was released to tell the dealerships which fluid to put in. IF YOU GO TO DEALER TO HAVE YOUR REAR DIFF FLUID CHANGED FOR THE FIRST TIME TELL THEM ABOUT THE BULLETIN! Their manuals have the wrong fluid listed in it. They had no idea until I told them about it. Go figure.

Update: When I show up at the dealer, the car is warmed and the noise is not present. Also contacted Chevy customer service, said there were no service issues associated with my VIN.

So just took it home. Big waste of effort.

Furthermore in the two days the dealer had my car, temps went from freezing to warm and sunny. This morning the noise was almost completely absent. Could be related to ambient temperature.

Oh ok...still trying to isolate my noise. Low squeak coming to a stop, even without brakes engaged. Acts a bit rough from time to time, feels like "grabs" or locks, but does not seem normal.
