Loud sounds coming from rear end

I've had my V6 M6 for about two weeks and noticed a loud, groaning kind of sound coming from the back.

It happens after a cold start, making tight slow speed turns. I don't know if its the rear diff or what. After the car warms up, the sound will stop, and not return until another cold start.

Anybody have this same noise issue?

Yeah the fluid needs to be changed. I did it myself. Took about 20 minutes. Didn't have to lift the car or anything. But if you can get the dealer to change it for free, even better!

Did you see metal flakes? Is that what's causing the issue?

Mine does this too, 2SS here. I thought it was perhaps something to do with the limited-slip differential though? Perhaps not. It does it a lot more in the cold, but is plainly heard whenever you make a sharp turn.

This is something you'e better off having the dealer take care of. If there are any future issues they at least have what was done on record.

Oh yeah. The fluid that came out was gun metal. Very dark. Very metallic.

This pic is from someone else's gen 5 camaro but mine looked the same and very metallic and shiny

Is this just typical break in procedure for this car, or a problem that will be addressed by GM in future Camaros?

Mine was done last month. Supposedly contaminated diff. fluid. Mines fine now.

My car was fine until AFTER they changed my fluid. One week later the sound appeared.

The dealer "can't replicate the sound." Time to go show them....
