I've had mine down shift at over 100 mph at the drag strip when I let off right past the traps. So, I just pop mine over into the manual mode and slap it into 8th gear.

Ahhhh.....thank you it's in sport mode and now it makes sense. I apologize for the term "blip".......ex bike racer and it's just burned in my brain.

My SS is doing something like this as well. If I am going 65 and hammer it sticks in the gear that it downshifted too until I switch shifter to manual mode then back to auto. Then it will shift. Basically it is getting stuck in 6th or 7th. I am afraid to take it in after my experience with my second 2015 Escalade LOL.......

Straight from the manual.

"Performance Shifting
While driving in Sport Mode (V6),
or Sport Mode and Track Mode
(V8), if Tap Shift has not been
activated, the transmission
determines when the vehicle is
being driven in a competitive
manner. The transmission may
remain in a gear longer than it
would in the normal driving mode
based on throttle input and vehicle
lateral acceleration. If there is a
rapid reduction in throttle from a
heavy throttle position at high rpm,
the transmission will maintain the
current gear up to near redline rpm.
While braking, the transmission will
automatically downshift to the next
lower gear keeping engine speed
above approximately 3000 rpm.
If the vehicle is then driven for a
short time at a steady speed, and
without high cornering loads, the
transmission will upshift one gear at
a time, until 8 (Eighth) gear. After
shifting to 8 (Eighth) gear, or coming
to a complete stop, the transmission
will return to normal Sport Mode
shifting."

[url=http://goo.gl/Kt1RzU Posted by Riles0303[/url] This has occurred multiple times now....sometimes at over 5 grand......not a fun experience. Can't manually shift it to lower rpm's. Going in Monday for oil pickup check and now I guess a new tcm. Not really happy about this.

Most helpful Mustang driver ever You should have a private course to teach new Camaro owners how to correctly operate their vehicle.

It is performance shift mode you can get out of this mode by quickly shifting the shifter to manual mode and back to drive. Or you can let off throttle for 8 seconds and it will return to regular mode.

Sounds like sport mode. My 2010 SS did that, and my Ford Fusion Titanium does as well. But in regular D mode, it's not nearly as jarring.

I had the same 'issue' as well. I understand now that it's by design, but initially was a bit freaked as it doesn't sound very good while this is happening and I didn't know you could toggle to manual and back to force the shift. Good info!

I actually experienced this when I test drove the car. It was pretty scary I thought I had broke it. We were going down hill at 45mph and the transmission wouldn't up shift and it was banging off the red line until I pushed the throttle a little uphill. I just thought maybe the transmission was trying to figure out what I was doing.
