A8 sticking in gear when I blip the throttle

This has occurred multiple times now....sometimes at over 5 grand......not a fun experience. Can't manually shift it to lower rpm's. Going in Monday for oil pickup check and now I guess a new tcm. Not really happy about this.

Not sure what you are describing, why would you "blip" the throttle on an automatic at those revs? Are you saying it won't up shift in manual mode? Does it shift in auto?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Why blip throttle on an automatic car? Car goes into the performance mode or whatever the automatic version has?

Just to get around a car on the freeway....it sticks in gear and whatever rpm it was at when I let off the throttle. In auto mode. It feels like it went to manual but the transmission is frozen and won't up shift

First post, joined just to complain. Good luck with your blip issue, first anyone has ever heard of it.

Sounds like driver "error".. Again, why "Blip" the throttle to pass a car? I'm not sure you know what exactly that means.

Make a video.

Joined to see what everyone is experiencing and to share my own wisdom. This is my 4th camaro with an auto trans and I've never experienced such a thing.

I know exactly what it means....to get enough acceleration to pass a car without punching it. Unlike the manuals to match speed...I use it to get out of v4......could very well be my fault and causing it to stick in between

Sounds like it but I think he's in manual mode. I let off the throttle and it's stuck until the trans decides to up shift....which is up to ten seconds later. I want your input so I can stop doing something stupid if that's the case.

Sorry about the use of terminology but you get what I mean. I'll change it to "briefly roll on the throttle"

I can only guess that it's in track or sport mode which will hold the gear longer. Also, it would require more than a "blip" to downshift.
