I got a call today from my Salesman Vince telling me he was very surprised that a TWP was not assigned in the system by today. I have no reason to doubt the guy at this point but for fun I had Becky check the other day and she confirmed my order status was 2000 on 4/19 here.

He said he would check again tomorrow and hopefully worst case it will be Monday for a target production week. He mentioned that based on when the last cycle was we would be hoping to make the next one which would be 5/23/16. Fingers crossed.

Before I let him go I said "how long does it take from there"? He misunderstood what I meant but gave me some entertaining info anyway LOL. He says "we'll you're asking the right guy, I worked at a plant for 25 years, your car takes about 3 hours to build. When I first worked there we had about a weeks worth of parts stored on site like your exhaust, red seats ECT. However, now when it goes 3400 (broadcast sheet) it's like telling the suppliers I need these specific items for your order on site at a specific time to build the car. Parts arrive all day. Then it all comes together." So I say "what I meant was when would you expect the car here in CA". He laughed and said "sorry for giving you all the useless info, from Lancing about 2 weeks from the time it's built".

I'm hoping it's built a little later in that TPW so it will show up closer to the middle of June so I can hopefully score a private offer! "All things work together for good"

I got a little bummed when I read this post/article - Aftershock: GM Idling Four North American Plants Due to Japanese Earthquakes. However, it looks like the author was confusing the plant where the 5th Gen was made and Lancing where the 6th Gen production is so it's a little confusing.

I sent that article to Vince my Salesman saying "hey maybe this is why we didn't get a TPW". Here is his reply with attachment:

I got up to status 3000 with a TPW of 5/16/16 Would anyone like to make a guess as to when it would arrive in CA? I'm hoping end of May or mid June when private offers are hopefully up.

All depends, I had tpw of 4/11 and from what I understand my car is already in CA. I believe it shipped around the 16th-18th, much much faster than expected. However I know some other got stuck in QC and there car has just been sitting on the lot.

I'm glad to hear from someone else who ordered in CA. That does seem pretty quick. Are you using the OnStar method to track it? Also I just read some people are getting Private Offers now, are you all over that?

I did grab a private offer, it's a free 1000 dollars off so I would recommend it to everyone. I used the automated phone line for the rail car to track.

Awesome, I hope a PO works out for me too! Do you have more info on the automated phone line? I haven't heard about that.

That is great finding a good dealer right away. I emailed six different dealers in the Denver area for quotes on an 1SS. I received four automated replies saying something like 'Thanks for your interest, call this number to schedule a test drive', one from an internet sales manager directing me to chevrolet.com to do a build and get my price from that, and one actually sent me the following price quote:

MSRP price: $41,500 Sale price: $41,500 Internet sale price: $41,500

Am calling Becky probably this week about ordering a 17.

You would have to ask your dealer for the rail car info.

That sucks, I was pretty blessed it went so easily for me. I hope it works out for you. I've heard Becky can place an order and have it delivered to a local dealer so that's an option. Or, you can use that as leverage to tell these guys as a last resort "work with me on making a deal or I'll just order it from a dealer who will and have it delivered here". I made an ordering guide, not sure if you've seen it. You can read it HERE. It sounds like you've already done some of those steps though.

Awesome , I think you are only one TPW behind me! I know they've sold a decent amount of Camaros but your the first person to comment saying they bought there that I've seen anyway. Was your Salesman Vince or someone else?

My salesman was Mike. I sent emails to 6 dealers telling them I wanted to place an order and he came back with the best price by far. I was able to do everything over the phone which was nice.

Pretty excited now. All the parts are landing at the assembly plant for my car. Looking forward to seeing the all important 3800 - Vehicle Produced and 4000 - Vehicle Available to Ship.

Does a VIN get assigned right away after 3800 typically? When do you guys think I'd expect to see that on the order assuming it's built Monday?

I'm at 3400 too but TPW is still a week behind. We will get our cars very close to each other.
