Always mind your surroundings period, whether the car is lock or not.
Just my .02 cents
It happens. Made the local news around here and in Houston last year. People opening the door or reaching in an open window when the owner was looking the other way or fooling around with the gas pump and grabbed their purses.

Never having a car that had this feature - seems like if you were cleaning / working on car and walked inside house occasionally it would be constantly locking and unlocking the doors when you walked away and came back ??

Once it locks itself, it doesn't unlock until you press the button in the handle.

Your first and second sentence contradict yourself with regards to what you're responding to in this thread.

So you'd have to press the handle to unlock every time you came back out to do something or get something out of car ?? A big pain in the butt if you ask me !

The button is integrated in the handle right where your thumb goes, so it's not like it requires extra effort. You still have to use your hands to open the door...

I don't know how people found it annoying.. it's dope to me.. I never pull the key out of my pocket.. I walk up to the car, I pull the handle and it opens.. I get out of the car.. I just walk away and about 4 seconds later it locks itself.. it's the exact same thing you'd do WITH the fob, minus 2 extra steps that require you to grab the key

It has happened around here a lot. Which is why I lock my car at the gas pumps.

Regardless. Thanks for everyone's input.

Question about the automatic locking--if you just walk away and it locks--how do you know it's locked? Do the lights still flash? What indicator is there that it is now locked? I might be a little OCD but I'd be afraid it might not work 1 time and that is the 1 time my baby would get stolen!
