imo if youre opening a new chapter in performance engines in the mustang, dont use a retro name use a new nameplate.

I'm afraid Ford will not justify another model in between the GT/PP and GT350 as long as sales remain strong as they are. Updating the Coyote to a power level to compete with the SS will not find the same justification it did last gen when the Mustang was behind in sales and power significantly.
The 3.5EB option is viable, but at the same time will not be received well as a "Mach 1" or higher than GT model. Just like the ATS-V, it may be a great performer but everyone will say how it should have a V8. Maybe in another 5 years the market would be ready to accept a "hi-po turbo 6" as a replacement for a V8.

The 3.5EB while having the benefit of already existing, it also exists at a spec that's a step up from the current Coyote. So it fits, whether enthusiasts like the idea or not. Plus it'll allows Ford to see the potential take rate of a V6EB in Mustang. Essentially seeing how the public may react to what I can only assume will be the eventual transition of the GT from a V8 to a V6TT.

A car that will perform extremely close, costing at least 12K less. I can't wait to see these comparisons.

Yes, the 2017 will have all the coolers standard, but for a price increase. |

Not to mention, there have been several (I think four documented cases so far) of the Voodoo engine failing. They get a no oil pressure light (sometimes), and the engine seizes up. Two transmissions failed also (unrelated to the engine failures). Last edited by whiteboyblues2001; 04-08-2016 at 03:13 PM. |

I think some of those base & tech pack cars will sit on the lots once people realize the heat issues. There are still... my Guess about 1600 of them in the pipe line. I bet some will cancell and buy a 17. So a 17 tech pack car will be $62K. MSRP about.

I am really curious to know what the Ford camp thinks of the price jump, but surprisingly I can't find a thread on MG6 that is talking about this. I've looked in a lot of places....where is it hiding? Is this not yet official or something.
I'd have expected a fairly significant discussion about this.

If also like to see some evidence that the 1LE will be as close in performance to the GT350TP. Similar weight, same size tires, probably similar magride suspension set up but with nearly 100 more HP and an 8K+ redline. I know GM has some really great chassis engineers but I think it may be a bit optimistic to think that they're that much better than Ford's. |
