Anyone know when we can expect some non-professional GM photos? I always enjoy looking at the journalists photos. Also, an underhood photo is a must!

i know looks are subjective, I personally think it looks mean as hell, and love it. As I do the GT350.

No underhood pictures, yet. As of the time of the reveal, the red car did not have an engine cover, but I did get a good look at the drip tray system. It's removeable again, Pretty nifty.

Well....LOL. My ZL1 chewed through tires. The 1LE chews through tires. This car will chew through tires.

The good thing about a RWD car is that as hard as the front tires are working to turn the car...the rears are working just as hard to put 640 hp to the ground!

Budget for fun.

As for the z06.. Yes, it slow for a supercar on high speeds.Even with the stage 0 it makes a lof of downforce, which kills the speed.

Even a 4 -door cts v is faster than that failure....
I would hardly call it a "failure". You're focusing on the negative aspect of one engineering/design decision, and ignore the benefits of that decision (downforce, grip). Life is about tradeoffs, so that's hard to reason with.

The ZL1, as the 1LE, and the SS are all designed to excel on the track. And they do. (will)

I've said it already, i think in this thread, but the advertisement of At least (ok, they say "estimated") 640HP, 640TQ, i think we are looking at final number of 665 / 665.

Forget the Hellcat challenge, I'd love just to see the Camaro have more than the Corvette, just to get past the outdated concept that vette has to have more than anything cuz it's tops at GM. I'm sure the friendly rivalry that exists between the two teams already benefits both, now just let Camaro loose if they so choose.

Seriously, I will walk from my order if we could nail down when A10 is going in the normal Camaro

It sounds like it will more than likely be coming to the rest of the lineup for the MY18 car. That hasn't been confirmed, but it sounds like it has been confirmed that the A8 will be on the other camaros for MY17. I just don't see them having two auto trannys available in 2018.

If the ZL1 outpowers the Z06, it won't be long.

The Corvette is the king of the castle in GM's kingdom, and they want to keep reliable Corvette owners happy. If the Z06 gets out gunned by the ZL1, a higher trim Corvette will come along before too long and top the Camaro.

The LT4's supercharger already spins insanely fast at stock boost levels. The only way to increase power would be to change out the intake and exhaust paths, which will be difficult to top a Corvette.

We'll see tho, I wouldn't expect more than 650HP/650 TQ.

I think John Galtman is that EVO (evoshift or whatever) guy again - just sayin.

John - what are your thoughts on Camaro not being AWD with DCT?

I regretted not buying a 5th Gen ZL1 as my daily, but I could not get over that interior. That was a mistake. I got a leased M235i which is a great car, but in the end I still felt the primal urge for a V8, and it is damn near impossible to find a manual ZL1 in Blue Velvet OR Blue Ray.

Now, I don't think I have an excuse. Please, Chevy, keep Blue Velvet around for a little while, ok? I'll work on my wife.

Except I am perpetually torn between one of these, an SRT Challenger, and a GT350. All very different, all very awesome. I want them all.

This is the attitude I carry myself with. I know this is a Camaro specific forum, so I'm not here to complain about what is shaping up to be one helluva car. Good to know posters like you are around.

All signs point to awesomeness, but those who don't learn from history....

Let's all just hope GM learned their lesson from the Z06 fiasco.

While I hope you are right, I would be shocked to see north of 650hp SAE rating. The 1.7L S/C is nearly at capacity RPM in the Z06 so it would make sense to slow it down a little (pulley change) so it runs cooler and keeps the Z06 on top from a HP perspective for those that care about such things and resolve the cooling issue at the same time. I am very intrigued by the idea of a 1.9/2.3L S/C on the LT4. You would have to do some head work but if you could get it under the hood....you are talking about some ridiculous power at that point. Not taking anything away from the way it comes at all. I love it.
