GM owns the brand and the copyright. They call it a Flowtie...that's what it is. The marketing department did not come up with it. The engineering team did once the realized the cooling impact not having the Bowtie on the grill had on the Z/28. So, since it has been called a Flowtie by GM and specifically designed to allow more air to flow into the cooling system....it is a Flowtie. This should not bother anyone who understands how it came about and has been embraced by GM and the Camaro community.

3-16-16...2017 Camaro ZL1 Day?
Now, "glowtie" on the other hand…BARF! Both in name and execution. So dumb.

![]() GM brass insist that Chevrolet's use that gold bowtie on everything. I am so glad that the Camaro (in some instances) have avoided that 'edict'. Not only that, the flowtie was engineered to FUNCTION, garage-monkey style with a dremel tool! I love it...I can forgive the name. |

Any chance that all we will get is some sort of daily teasers leading up to official reveal at NY auto Show? Similar to what they did with intro to the Gen6?
