Mike
So the MT's in our cars are not equipped to even handle the stock power levels? WTF?

Says the Challenger guy? I know it can handle alot more. lol The 5th gens easily held any supercharger.

This is off of Tremec's website:
http://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-6060.pdf

So anywhere between 430-650 ft lbs input torque as a reference.
The Challengers, vipers, 5th gen camaros have already proven this transmission is way more capable than 420 ft lbs.

Yes. Thinking twins on a mostly stock car might be into the 9's. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck and they are so nice looking.

Looks like there's more to the story.....

List of gear ratios:
http://www.hotrod.com/features/1505-...the-sixth-gen/

Tremec's list of available gear ratio setups and their respective published torque limit guidelines
http://www.tremec.com/anexos/TREMEC_TR-6060.pdf

It looks like the 6MT we have falls somewhere between gearing B and C of the above (gears 1-4 type C, gears 5-6 type B), which show limits (or guidelines if you will) of 560lb-ft (gears 1-4) and 500lb-ft (gears 5-6) respectively for the TR-6060.

I've had the same thought myself. 14-15 psi will be ~800 at the wheels. It's really tempting.

I think that LT4 engines have additional fuel pumps in the tank already. I'm not sure on that. Being direct inject, I'm not sure if it's similar to standard injectors, but I have heard that in stock trim we are near capacity of the stock pieces. Same as the LS based motors in stock trim. Torque limits are the same, only engineered to handle stock power. Some will be freaks, others fail early.

On the rear, they do have an LSD, not electronic though. That's reserved for special camaro a and vettes. I can say the traction control is functional and needed in this thing. The other day a downshifted into 4th at around 70 and felt it start to get squirrley, and the icon was flashing on the dash, telling me I lit the tires. I was surprised to say the least.

I haven't been on PT in a while, do you still have that blue truck?

Well, since the Camaro's gear ratios don't match anything listed, maybe it's OK to "interpolate" between columns and The1DoubleN is right: it's somewhere between 500 and 560 lb/ft.

But we all know, you can often exceed official ratings by a substantial amount anyway.

From what I read the new 8 speed auto can handle big power. So can the M6 if you can cough up the $8K for clutch and diff upgrades. I was pushing 625-650RWHP in my last 1LE. I drag race often. Everything broke but the transmission. Even though the 1LE had a stronger M6 than the standard SS your transmission should be fine @ 625 RWHP. But be prepared to spend more if you actually use that power.

On both CA6es you will need to beef up the suspension too.
