LOL I can only imagine a Camaro owner's reaction to that.

Really? Sounds like you are an image/looks buyer. In that case keep your Gen5. The Gen6 is leaps and bounds beyond the 5 in chassis dynamics, handling, performance, build quality. Read the reviews??... I'm not a Camaro guy. I didn't buy because it looks like a Camaro. I could care less there. I bought it because it is an awsomely balanced, well rounded performance car. IMO I think it looks better than the Gen5..

Hagerty has already put in the 2016 Future Collectibles list..

I could tell by the look his face, he wasn't sure what it was, but didn't want to sound stupid so he didn't ask, as he strolled around the back he noticed the Nissan badge and then said, and I quote word for word... are you ready for this? he said.. "Nissan 350z, hmm, 350 as in a Chevy 350?"

What do you say to that?

I just smiled, and proceeded to explain it to him. He then began to tell me how much of a car guy he was, and how much time he'd spent under the hood of random cars, and yada yada, it's hard to take someone serious after a comment like that.

It was a tough conversation. Catch 22 almost, since he was quite a bit older, I was 33 at the time and he was probably 50-ish, I was respectful, but on the other hand, because of his age and 'experience under the hood' he should have known better.
This is funny and happens alot. I was selling a g37 to a guy for his son and he kept talking about being a car guy. I asked what he owned and he said Scion tc. I was like what? Well lets take this G37 manual for a test drive. Imagine that he was shocked how fast it was. lol This was a catch 22 as well because he knew nothing about cars and his son was right there so I just agreed with him.

The 2014 refresh did both for the new camaro. They freshened it up a so there wasn't a 6 year streak and some aspect of the 2014 camaro are similar to the new gen6. However, if you have followed the camaro through the past 6 year you will absolutely know there is a huge difference in every aspect of the new gen6. The cool part is, it is almost a sleeper. people from afar see it as the gen5 and as they get closer the more and more refined it gets and they ask questions because something looks different but they can't quite tell what it it. Then you stand there with them and mention a few of the differences and they immediately think it is a completely different car than the previous gen. An other aspect of this debate is how many people are they going to draw with the gen6. This car now combines markets and their populous. Give me the choice of the 2015 at 10k of msrp or a 2016 2SS and I went with the gen6 2SS due to the fact it has all the technology that all generations want. The body line are smooth, the interior is now classy and very updated, the performance kicks ass and you feel like you fit in with the euro car. Even if they don't want to consider you as a friend you can ask them politely to pick any track or strip and settle it right then and there because the gen6 is going to surprise the hell out of them.

Let me sum this all up.When a new model comes out it is fresh and the last model looks dated.Thats just the way it is.I love gen5 had one but when I see them now =well their dated not a hater but thats true with all cars.

Funny story, I belong to a classic car club, one of the members son got a 2016 in early January, First thing he did was de-badge the car, told us, it was the new thing to do. last Saturday night at the club meeting his father told us he put the badges back on the car every time he got together with his college friends they keep saying (Nice Lexus).

I have '14, I don't see any similarity with the 6th. gen is very easy to distinguish one from the other.

I saw one on the road yesterday and could tell immediately from the rear it was a 6th gen, but with my poor eyesight looking in the rearview mirror the front end was harder to distinguish.
One thing, I thought I would miss the quad lights of the 10-13 rear end, but the 6gen does look better than the 14-15. I wonder, is it possible to swap the 14-15 rear out for the 10-13? Id try it if I had one.

Oh no, I agree the interior is way better as far as design, I was referring to the amount of room taken away in the back. It's really nice to be able to share the feeling of cruising in the camaro with the top down with the whole family comfortably in the car with me.

No, this was discussed extensively on the Camaro5 forums. Part of the tail lamp touches the main bodywork of the car and necessitated reshaping it slightly for the housings. You can't just put the quad lamp bumper on.

I still find the 2014/2015 ZL1 an oddity. It has a pre-refresh front and post-refresh rear.

But anyway, I am going OT with this lol.
