I've had two cars with suede. It actually is easier to care for then leather. The trick is you must keep it clean. If you have kids, or are messy you can get treatments done like Scotch Guard kinda stuff which will protect it. I personally love it. It looks nice, holds you in place better, and isn't as hot in the summer.

As someone who has spoken to V Series engineers, I can tell you that is not the case. Read my post a few back, GM has to make concessions.

Also, a inch or two drop is not "stanced"...

I think the seats look real bad compared to the 5th gen Reacaro, The wheel gap is excessive, And also the fact they don't offer 2SS. C'mon Chevy

If I saw a 1LE in Hugger Orange with those same wheels but in grey (like the old C6 grand sport corvettes), with carbon fiber mirrors, spoiler, and front splitter, I would need to change my underwear lol
It does look similar but I think it's still awesome.

Notice they've only shown 1 new color. And it's kind of convenient that it's the green one that they chose to show (assuming there is going to be 2 new colors for '17) when we consider that the hugger orange would be much better revealed on the 50th anniversary edition Camaro.

If that's the case, then you can bet you will be able to order that color on the 1LE.

All speculation of course.

The 5th gen 1LE seats got lots of complaints from people who actually tracked them. They are too big and bulky...personally, I agree. They look huge and got in my way when shifting at times.

How the heck is that ride height optimal for the track? Is GM trying to compete with the jeep wrangler?

That sounds good to me! Thanks for checking. I saw Tran's pictures of the seats. Like you said a better bolstered version of the current stock seat. Makes me wonder if Recaro designed the stock seats because of how closely designed they are. How long until you order one for yourself ????

The new Recaros look a little wider and a little less bolster-y than the 5th gen's. Like they'd be more comfortable and less business-like.
Plus, they don't have the shoulder belt holes. Are racing belts supposed to just lay over the top of the seat on either side of the headrest?

Can you add a 5 point harness to those seats?

The 1SS/1LE wheels are slightly smaller in overall diameter... I think shorter springs would require more extensive suspension re-engineering, and that would have cost extra money that they would rather spend elsewhere. Combine that with an already slightly tall ride height, and it looks like a 4x4 here :/

I really wonder if MRC would be that sensitive to a 1" drop... I would keep spring rates the same, just make them shorter. I see CTS-V guys lower their cars all the time - would love to see actual evidence of what effects that has on handling.

I believe people that saw/sat in them are saying that they're actually narrower. It's really hard to judge seats just by looking at them, and different people will prefer different seats... I like the way they look, but will reserve judgement until I sit in them at the NY auto show (hopefully).

Just some quick thoughts which I'll flesh in when I get home....

I had a chance to speak to Al O. this morning about things Camaro and specifically the 1LE.

Here are the highlights:

1) MRC. MRC allows this 1LE to go around a track faster than without it. It wasn't added to make the car more civilized on the street, but to make it faster around a road course. Chevy realizes that some sanctioning bodies don't allow it - and they have something they're working on for that. But the weekend autocrossers should dominate with this set up.

2) Cost. Chevy is shooting for a V6 1LE for under $30K and a V8 1LE for under $40K. It will cost more than the 5th gen car, which Al admits was an underpriced bargain, but not by that much. If you could afford a 5th gen 1LE, you'll be able to afford the 6th gen.

3) V6 1LE. I confirmed that it's faster than the previous Camaro SS around a track, not the previous 1LE.

4) The 2.0T is now in production. The 2.0T is an in demand motor and Camaro had to wait it's turn for it in the production pipeline.

5) Will there be a 2.0T 1LE? No plans yet, but very possible. Al wanted me to ask you guys about it and I will later in another thread. If there is a demand for one, GM will most probably make one. I'll probably post a poll on it later and send it off to them.

6) Yes we talked about a 6th gen Z/28, to which Al responded, "What Z/28?" On that topic of a mythical Z/28, he asked me, if I'd rather live with a "skip shift" or a $700 tax. I told him, give me the skip shift and put the 700 bucks back into the car's performance.

This was from Z284ever's post on GMI forums. I didn't speak wth Al O.
