I'm 6'5 360 with a 30-32" inseam...I test drove a 2SS with a sunroof and my head was touching. I think I had the seat all the way back. It wasn't too bad though depending on how I sat. I really would like a sunroof because I regret not getting one in my 2011. I have way more room in my 2011 than the 2016 I test drove. I guess I'd have to see how I fit in a non sunroof.

It seems to me, tall people who want to drive on the track(obviously with a helmet on) should have zero head room problems in a convertible, with the roof down. Can anybody express some thoughts or experience, do people drive covertible son the track much?

It's doable with a convertible, but most places I know of require a roll-cage or roll bar for convertibles....You need to check with where you may track it and with the people running the track event to see what the requirements are for convertibles...Good luck.

So I did go sit in, an test drive the 2ss car without the sun roof... I did fit, and there was about 1 to 1.5" of extra headroom available. I took my helmet, and I could wear it and keep my head straight. The helmet was touching the roof though, but now quite bad enough to be uncomfortable.
I still wish the seat reclined a little farther though. The seat itself felt comfortable, but after about the 15 minute test drive was over, my back was starting to hurt... I don't think it's something I could just jump in and take a long road trip any longer than maybe an hour before It'd start really hurting bad. |

Consumer reports states the car without the sunroof has more headroom.

That is correct: 0.1" more headroom according to the Order Guide.
See, sometimes Consumers Reports can be right. Laborsmith |

I sat in a '16 2LT with a sunroof and it seemed to me there was more headroom than the 5th gen with a sunroof. I had 2 of them. Was it just the way I was sitting but doesn't the sunroof come over a little further to the left of your head with the sunshade open?
Around here in northeast, maybe its the weather but the dealers are knocking $2-3K off the loaded cars and discounting the others. Lots of SS automatics, but only a few 6Ms. Except for my local dealer. They have a blue auto SS with $700 worth of Lojack and fabric protection. Been sitting there for a month. LOL I will be staying far away from them.

I sat in one and thought it didn't recline much at all....But then I found the adjustment that tilts the bottom cushion, and the recline angle increased along with it....

Is it a different adjustment than the one to lower the seat all the way down? I had the seat all the way down in the sunroof car and I didn't really have head room. Tilting the bottom cushion wouldn't do me any good unless you can tilt it more after it's lowered all the way.

There's a vertical adjustment, a seat adjustment, a forward-back adjustment, and then a recline adjustment...thing reclines damn-near flat if you want it to...
