It looks like the absolute best place to get one from around here according to website pricing is Clint Newell up in Roseburg (~1.5 hr away for those not local)... They are actually charging MSRP and don't have a huge markup like everything local, which is surprising. 2SS A8, MRC, 8" MyLink and black wheels for $46,180, same price as I built it for on Chevy.com... Even without ADM that's a boat load of money though. TC Chevy in Ashland has a 2SS w/o a sun roof I am going to drive it on Wednesday and I'll report back on the head room issue. The guy on the phone told me that they do have a mark up, but not anywhere near the $5k markup... LOL. We will see. I'm not buying, I'm just driving anyway. Remember when you could get a 5th Gen stripper model with just a v8, and a manual and it was only $31k? Now you're paying that for a damn v6 w/ a bunch of BS trinkets you don't want.

I don't get why ANY dealer is charging ADM on Camaros anymore...
You would think after the 5th Gen they'd realize that they're not "limited production" or "hard to get". |

I'm 6' 4" and had no problem with headroom in a non sun roof car and am confident I can wear a helmet too. I learned with gen5 to stay away from the sun roof but wouldn't want to give up the reverse mohawk roof exterior anyway.
FYI - I'm a 34" inseam so my height isn't all legs.

I buy a lot of parts from them so I get a pretty good deal on parts at least, but for convenience, I don't mind driving their cars around to see if I like them... I did get them to get rid of the 5k mark up on the last car I bought there... Told them you either ditch the mark up, or I would go to Jim Sigel where they didn't have a mark up (at the time)... Even now JS started with a $2500 markup last time I was out that way looking at their Camaros. I'm thinking Clint Newell may be where it's at, at least at the moment. Quote:
I'm 6'2" and Ideally I need a 28-29" inseam pants, but they're on the hard side to find in stores, so I usually end up with a 30-32" and just walk the bottom several inches off of them. Short leg syndrome. |

Your inseam suggests your height is in your torso so that will make it harder for you. If you are heavier also, that will play into it as well. I'm a 34-34 pant so not too bad

Has anybody taken a covertible to the track. Driving with the top down does seem a logical answer to tall people with helmets.

Yes, I have a long torso, head room in vehicles has always been an issue for me. Not so much leg room. The sunroof car I sat in had leg room out the ass for me. I can say that the seat felt very comfortable though. Seemed much more comfortable than my 2010 1SS seat. I think I will even take my helmet with me on Wednesday and see if I can fit comfortable with it. This is true... I don't know all the typical NHRA or track rules for factory convertibles... Around here I feel like they make all the cars with a top that's built into the car run have to with it up... Cars that show up with removable hardtops, or cars without tops can run without. |

My 2014 had a sunroof and I could never adjust the seat where I felt really comfortable. I'm 6ft 4in with long torso. My 2016 has no sunroof and I can actually adjust the seat where I can sit up straight in the seat without hitting/inning my head on the headliner. I do not miss the sunroof one bit!

I think you will have to take your helmet to the dealership and see for yourself.
I sat in a 6thGen with a sunroof, and my head didn't hit, but I know there is no way I could have worn a helmet. I'm 6'3", but it varies with everyone around that height. 5th Gen with sunroof, helmet was a no go also....I need to recline the seat in my non-sunroof SS for headroom with a helmet....I wish the telescoping wheel would come out further so I could be up on the wheel more, but oh well.... 5th Gen is tight, 6thGen I believe is even tighter....Sunroofs do lose some room, but not as much as you would think. Good luck. |

I'm frustrated not being able to get a straight answer to this question as I'm 6'2". The specs I find only show one headroom number. It would seem that going from the double bubble to the flat roof, since the flat roof is at the high point of the double bubble, they would be able to use that to keep the interior headroom the same? Living in a hot climate I really love a sunroof and would use it all the time.
