I had dealer do mine at 500 miles with Mobil1. I paid $20 upcharge to do it, but it was well worth it.

I would be interested in learning how you were able to negotiate a better deal, so I can use some of those tactics to negotiate more effectively myself.

I'm waiting for the production QC issues to iron out before buying mine.

[QUOTE=SuperSound;8837830]You really believe you got a better deal than anyone will get in 6 months or a year for now? That's pure delusional. Why don't you share with us how you got more than supplier or employee discount. Since to be the best deal you would have to beat those.

I did get supplier discount and negotiated some other things. My point was not that I got the best deal and that would be delusional if I thought so. I was saying what you said SuperSound. I do not believe I am any better than anyone else here that is smart enough to use facts and this forums real information to negotiate a better deal. Nor should I care about the deal you get. Mine is done and paid for. lol

Argued with dealership, argued with Chevy online (3 different associates), got nowhere. If I want Mobil 1 to be used, I'm paying for the difference, not sure how you guys are getting dealerships to just throw this in.......

Dave Jones [2:05:56 PM] : Well, I'm currently at the dealer getting the 1st
complimentary oil change done on my new 2016 Camaro SS
Dave Jones [2:06:43 PM] : The dealer wants to charge me to use synthetic
oil, is that normal or should that be part of my 2 free services in the
2yr/24,000mi period?
Dave Jones [2:07:43 PM] : This car uses the same V8 engine as the corvette which uses full synthetic oil
Stacy [2:07:46 PM] : I would have to look in your Owner's Manual to see
what is recommended.
Dave Jones [2:08:08 PM] : the owner's manual just says to use an oil
that's at least dexos 1 compliant
Dave Jones [2:08:41 PM] : so i want to use mobil 1, which fits the criteria,
and comes as factory fill in the corvette
Dave Jones [2:09:36 PM] : but they want to charge me an extra $30-40 to
do so
Stacy [2:09:51 PM] : I would have to further look into this for you.
Dave Jones [2:09:55 PM] : ok
Dave Jones [2:09:58 PM] : i can hold
Stacy [2:10:41 PM] : Thank you. Please give me 3-5 minutes.
Dave Jones [2:10:50 PM] : Thanks Stacy
Stacy [2:14:50 PM] : Thank you for holding. With the information that I do
see in the system, it does recommend using engine oils that have the
dexos1 specification. On chevrolet.com, there is an oil called ACDelco
dexos1 Synthetic Blend. If you prefer to use a different type of oil to be
fully synthetic, that would be at your expense.
Dave Jones [2:15:48 PM] : I see, ok, thank you for confirming this for me
Stacy.
Stacy [2:16:05 PM] : You are welcome. Was there anything else I could
assist you with today?
Dave Jones [2:16:15 PM] : That was it, thanks!
Stacy [2:16:34 PM] : If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate
to come back and chat with us. We are here to chat Monday through
Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.,
and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Thank you for
visiting us.

I'm waiting for my car to be finished now at the dealership (Keyes in Van Nuys, CA) and will be coughing up the extra $30 so I get my Mobil 1.....

AutoNation Fort Lauderdale uses mobile 1 free in every Corvette and every Camaro regardless of engine. Just an FYI

I never used my free oil changes, maybe I don't trust what the entry level tech (no offense, I was one once) would put in my car. Check your oil level before leaving the dealership, because I've seen to many stories of improper fills, between V6 and V8 models, sometimes they get confused. Besides, oil changes are easy on these cars and I use Amsoil (do some research on that company if you want to know what a full synthetic is) Signature Series and I like to prefill the oil filter before it is installed. I know 100% that my car has the correct oil and proper amount. Go to mychevrolet.com and you can document your services. Matter of fact, if your car has service performed by the dealership, you will see it in the history.

Y'all trust the dealer to treat your baby right and use the correct oil? Just saying.

Not sure if my deal is better than everyone else but my sticker was $46,875.00
and my out the door tax, title, tags with 3 years maintenance and a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper too bumper Major Gaurd warranty was $42,128.31.

Magnetic ride, dual mode exhaust, sunroof, navigation, Mosaic Black, 20" 5 split spokes on the options list.

We trust our product so much, we're covering the product for less time!

That $30 is about half price what it usually costs. 10qts of M1 will run about $60-70.
