I never even thought about the fact that it might be due to the drive by wire algorithm. Thanks.

Everyone in this thread brings up some good points. i'm used to a manual in the Camaro and I drove an A8 so the delay while it finds a gear may very well be a reason as well. It was my first time driving an auto V8 pony car.

I think a lot of it has to do with the break in period as well. I have a 2015 Silverado with the 6.2 and A8. I thought the same thing when I first got it, it felt similar to the 5.3. After about 5K miles it broke in and feels a lot quicker than it did when it was brand new. Plus it smokes my wife's Tahoe with the 5.3 now!

It could very well be that the delay that GM put in the throttle controller ECU in the 2010-2015 Camaros , is once again showing up in the 2016 Camaro ECU! I betcha they put that lag in signal relay in there for safety reasons, and probably something GM wants to cover their warranty! Nothing that a Vitesse throttle controller can't fix! There is NO WAY I could drive my 2010 Camaro RS without it installed, it would be a total slug if I NEVER bought it! Thanks Vitesse!!!!

My car feels fast as heck. Endless amounts of torque, you barely push the pedal and it just wants to launch. I do notice a difference in sport vs touring. Sport feels more responsive and quicker. I am comparing to a 4th gen LT1, my 5th gen was a V6.

That's a good point. I wonder what driving mode the car was in when the OP drove it. He may have had it in the Winter or Touring mode?

It was in Sport mode.

I really think it all comes down to what most people mentioned. It's a much more refined car with a built in throttle delay to make the power delivery more smooth and the fact that it was an A8. I was used to a manual with instant WOT because of the cable driven throttle and an archaic live rear axle and lowered suspension. Not to mention the sound from the long tubes that dumped into a catless set of cherry bomb type mufflers that dumped out 3/4 of the way towards the back of the car. At my age, I'm happy to leave all that in the past. Especially since I'm now used to more creature comforts and a very tight car.

Sweet SS Bond2!! I plan on trading my 2010 V6 for a 2016 SS in the near future too. Glad to hear you love the power as soon as you push the pedal a little, that's what I want too! Instant immediate response, NO DELAY!! I cant wait to get my SS!!

I'm sure this is posted else ware... so forgive... But I would say this reviewer disagrees with the ops feeling of speed. The expression on his face when he launches is pretty cool! Hope I giggle like that when my car gets here!

There are different throttle mappings based on mode.

Tip-in is easier on Snow and Comfort so as to not just take off. A little more progressive with sport (still dialed back) where Track is pretty linear.

Try track mode and report back.

Will revisit in 6 months, I think you may feel way different on the slow feel after break in and getting use to it in and out of traffic, etc.

Slow is my BAT 4.7L but, sometimes when I am in a hurry and switch from backing out the garage onto the street and throw it in drive, my big ass truck burns the rears, too funny.

My charger always feels slow as it is a 4 ton plus car but, I get thrown into the seat all the time. Maybe feeling slow in new muscle cars is a good thing for the economy I know it has kept the charger performance vendors in my pockets for years.

Drove a 15' manual 1LE around the block the other day and followed it up by driving a 16 A8 SS. Good God the 16 felt to have way more pull and take off.
