The HP scale is to 300 instead of 350 like torque. No clue why the wouldn't keep the same scale.

On any true dyno run HP always meets TQ at 5250.

They do meet, at 5250 both HP and TQ are roughly 255 for the red line, 245 for the green line. The graph is scaled wrong for HP, but the numbers line up.

Ya, I would not tow with a 5.3 either. My wife's 11 year old Cummins is the tow pig. My mud truck weighs 7-8k by itself and the trailer is about 2500. I quit buying the smaller stuff with my Silverado in 02. There was just nothing left of them after a while. The 3/4 ton gear takes way more abuse and seems last forever with only a little maintenance.

My other car is a 2.0 Ecoboost Escape. They are great driving cars and when you hit the gas, you've got to hold on tight with that 270 pounds of torque steer. If you look at the torque curve it's cranking high numbers as early as 2000 rpm due to a dual stage turbo. The stock 2.0 has 17 pounds of boost. The 2WD model does 0-60 in 6.8 and the 1/4 in 15 seconds. Not bad for a 3700 pound 5 passenger crossover that gets me 25 mpg around town and 30 mpg highway. Oh, and it also has a towing capacity of 3500 pds with a class II 2 inch receiver hitch. It's a great all around DD.

[QUOTE=crysalis_01;8738405]I currently own, and tow with, a '13 FX4 EB. It goes very well and without complaint. I love in Wyoming so level highways don't really exist. I've pulled a flat, open, 18' trailer with a '88 Supra loaded on it over South Pass. The trailer weight about 1300lbs, the car about 3,400lbs, and the pass is 7,411ft in elevation.

Why just Wyoming?

Curse you LG G3!

I try to make a serious post and autocorrect strikes again. I swear I have to proofread posts like 3 times. Sometimes even that isn't enough.

This thread is so full of fail it's not even funny.

Buy what you want, it's that simple. Me, personally, I'd never buy a 4 cylinder Camaro(Gen 6 or the early 3rdgens ). They have their place, the CAFE standards, as previously mentioned, are going to be insane in the future. You should be happy they're bringing this engine in, creating technology for it because it allows GM to make the REAL Camaro models. Talk shit, be ignorant, scream "V8, 'murica" as loud as you want...but try to see the forest through the trees....as much as it's not really exciting the "purists" they have their place.

I'm not saying you should like the 4cyl Camaro, I personally don't but I'm not gonna be foolish enough to say it's pointless. BTW, they'll make the V6 obsolete in the future if I had to guess.

Wait till all the 4 banger owners go to shows and have to answer the dreaded question "what motors in it". I know the V6'ers already have to answer that question and when they see the person's look of distaste, they probably wish they had the V8. A 4 cyl engine has no place in the Camaro in my view. It destroys the entire image of the car for me. But that is just for me and how I feel about the car and it's history. I will still be glad to see more Camaro's on the road anyhow. Even the new Mustang is growing on me. The stance looks awesome (low and planted). But I still can't get over that rounded ass.

That already appears to be the direction that Ford is taking by positioning the EB between the V6 and GT trims, which will tend to squeeze the V6 out.

Not that I completely agree with that direction. Experience tells me that there are situations common in normal driving where even a 3.0L NA V6 will be much more responsive than a turbo 2.5L four (see sig). That's the case at least with manual transmissions.

Wait until you get lined up with a modded LTG 4 banger at the light and he (or she) blows your doors right off after it turns green. Then, it's off to shopping the Summit/Jegs catalog to get more mod parts for your V8.

I have a V6 and I never had to answer that question. In fact. I'm constantly amazed at the high tech GM put into the LFX and I will mention it anytime I get the chance. 323hp with 30+mpg is pretty impressive.

What you seem to not realize is that some people buy cars for their own individual tastes, not to impress other people. If I really wanted one, I could've purchased a new "V8" Camaro. However, I didn't want to for various reasons. So, when you see a V6'er cruising around, don't automatically assume that they have a V6 because they couldn't afford the V8.

If you're that concerned with what other people think about YOUR car, you have other issues than what engine you have.

I never had that problem. Once I told them it made 647 RWHP and 726 RWTQ they didn't seem too concerned about the number of cylinders anymore.

Of course, it was my car so I couldn't care less what the "image" folks thought.
