^ Totally missed my point, but that's ok.
![]() What's your brand of choice? I've installed a couple of Corsa systems on Dodge HEMI, but they only came with an x-pipe. Of course the stock HEMI exhaust also had an X-pipe, and I'm not sure I'd call it raspy... perhaps the x-pipe enhances the HEMI sound without offering that rasp, like you might hear on a Camaro.

I think it all boils down to personal preference when it comes to exhausts. It always has. Flowmaster, Corsa, Borla etc are all LEGIT companies. They do sound just a little different as well. I do apologize for keep saying the next sentence... But he does have an LT1 and the similarities of C7 to the new camaro is nuts. Well, same people who designed the c7 designed our babies lol.... For my friends C7 we narrowed down all the xpipes to Corsa and Borla. Both weighted about the same (borla being less weight but cant remember the exact number) and both were the same install... We went with Borla just because we both liked the sound of Borla better. Borla is the stock diameter of 2.75' where as the corsa was 3'.
Like I said in the beginning, it is all a personal choice on what YOU want to get. Reason we went with Borla is because it was quieter in cabin due to being 0.25 less in diameter but yet still added so much more real growl to the LT1 which made it PERFECT. Some prefer the whole shabang of zero cats, long tube headers and all... Some don't. So no judging haha. |

Which was? You showed the stock exhaust, I was just talking about aftermarket stuff.

I'll have to look at the pipes and such on the new LT1 and see if it even warrants a full mid pipe swap. I may just have stainless test pipes welded in were the secondary cats are and call it a day. |

OP, I will be doing a 3" SS catback with H-Pipe or possibly just some axlebacks. Going to need to listen to lots of sound clips first
. I won't be doing long tubes since they require a tune, may thow codes, and ultimately may not pass emissions. No short tubes either since the car already has them and the bang for the buck isn't there.

The only thing I like about the NPP is the fact that you have quiet and loud.
The exhaust note is beautiful when it's opened up, for a stock car. But no stock exhaust will ever sound like an aftermarket exhaust. No matter how Tracey t sounds it will still have a stock note, restrictions, and volume. Stock a lot of times is good quality built, but compared to stainless works or a true aggressive performance exhaust.... Lol yes it won't cut it. I'm an aftermarket fan though, I like full exhaust, long tubes, full header back exhaust with good crossovers, cat delete, etc. it depends on the application, but in my eyes the aftermarket is the way to go. Especially if you plan on doing more mods. Also you have to think about how that stock behemoth muffler looks, and what it could weigh. So what if come down to... Is it would be nice to have the quiet side exhaust on command, but they make all kinds of cut outs and bypasses that you can get installed. I really can't decide. I believe aftermarket is the way to go, but that NPP is so convenient. |

From what I've read, that "stock behemoth muffler" acts as a rear diffuser, sucking the back end down. After market exhaust systems will cause decreased handling capability, unless this is addressed.

It is understandable that you want "proof" thought you can trust AO and his team that they didn't do anything to this car without a legit reasoning behind it. I actually love how much they thought about things with this car. I am sure there will be a lot more information released once they release more camaro models out. Oh, I pre-ordered the hardcover 2016 camaro book that tells the inside story of the 2016. Hopefully that will have some more detailed info but I also have a feeling that since we all are crazy about the cars that all the info in that book we will already know... lol.

Im pretty sure I remember reading this in a car and driver magazine about the same shaped muffler on the ats-v. I'll have to search through my back issues to see if I can find it

I totally agree, aftermarket exhaust with a nice sound to it at idle and all thru the power band.
