Two steps ahead of the Mustang! Definitely aiming for the BMW 4 Series. I'd love to see a 428i vs 2LT, and an optioned out M4 vs. Z-28 comparison.

The Camaro is lighter than the Mustang, so right there alone the Camaro chassis is more advanced. Fact is, when GM set out to design the Alpha chassis, it was the first chassis in the history of the company where weights and measures were done in the metric system rather than English. Johann deNyschen said they measured components down to the nuts and bolts in mm and weighed them in grams and kilos rather than ounces and pounds. Ask Ford engineers what a kilo is, and some may whisper to you they have some in their car. But to meet them two blocks down the street, behind the Circle K. |

I really don't think fastball was serious about the metric thing; just trying to make a poor joke, I would guess. So, has anyone compared the two platforms in any detail to show the strengths/weaknesses of both? So far it's just people deciding one is better than the other based on what a model built on the Alpha weighs. |

Alpha IS more advanced than the Mustang, that is a fact. Go to your little computer and use your little mouse and do a little homework. |

So a vehicle's degree of "advancement" is qualified by weight(or lack there of). I was unaware of this...

"The Mustang isn't as quick, and getting good performance out of it is hard work. The Ford laps the figure eight in 24.4 seconds, averaging 0.82 g, but it's hard to escape the fact that is shares much with the last Mustang. ..."Feels heavy. There's a lack of damping in the body motions with high pitch and roll rates." In English: You're bounced around a lot. You're shifting a lot too, just cresting into third as you enter the corner before shifting back to second"

The 6th Gen is the better performing car and nobody is trying to debate otherwise. The statement was the Alpha was better chassis than what is under the Mustang. I don't have any data that says it is. |

Nice. The six is growing on me due to weight (lack of). Will have to drive both as for sure a V-8 guy. Not liking the low roof visibility comments in the other thread you posted on Camaro vs. GT. Is it just me or does the shifter seem not so smooth.
