Reason I say this is out of the three manual tests the best one is a 1SS.

Autoweek 2SS: 12.7 / x.x (don't think they tested 0-60?)
Road & Track 2SS: 12.5 / 4.2

Motor Trend 1SS: 12.4 / 4.0

Hoping Car & Driver tests a manual something to compare soon.
With R&T numbers so close and on a cold day, I don't think there is enough difference to show up consistently.

Is it just me thinking that out of all the reviews so far... Everyone EXCEPT Car and Driver raving about the gen6? My theory is that Car and Driver are just butt hurt because the camaro owns their beloved german cars or mustangs.

$37,000 optioned out 2LT takes will take an immediate hit on all the accessories. $30,000 base MSRP means that in 5 years my highly optioned 2LT will be worth the same as a bone stock 2LT.

And, the 1SS will probably be worth $4000-$5000 more in 5 years even though my car cost almost exactly the same price new.

Zack: I didn't realize this was going to be your 1st Camaro. You sound like you have previous history with sports cars in the very least. This will be my 3rd camaro. I skipped gen 5 and since the V6 is just as fast as the gen4 LT1 I figure the power of the 6 will be quite sufficient.

Suppose in 2-3 years we could take the depreciation hit and pick up a used if the V8 bug hits hard.
How much more is the 2SS vs the 1SS in weight though I wonder, with stock options and no customizations.

Also, can we do the "blade" spoiler-pseudo-delete for sure? I read about spoiler delete not being possible but the blade application works. Seen a few pics of the blade-pseudo-delete and like it way better

This. My sister got a used 2013 Escape Titanium last year. It was nearly the same price as SE's with the same miles. Loaded cars tend to take a bigger depreciation hit than ones that aren't.

Probably only around 30 lbs or so base 1ss to base 2ss.

The auto 2ss at 3760 had MRC and sunroof. That's about 50lbs extra.

I think transmission options weigh about the same. Bet the auto could be a little heavier from coolers etc.

C&D netted a 12.3 et. It's in their review.

Muscle car fan, only now getting around to openly admitting some Camaro love. I don't have any muscle cars ATM (nor have I had any previously), but I am weighing the pros and cons of this new Camaro or an SRT 392 Challenger as my next daily driver. Love them both (of course, I cannot wait to test drive the Camaro SS).

Really? Really?

How is that anything but massive praise?

So they didn't like the interior? BFD.... we know that's going to be a polarizing, subjective assessment.

FYI, C/D has been giving BMW a hard time ever since the current 3-series came out in 2012. They really don't care for it.

I completely disagree with your baseless assessment.

EDIT: not a great review (it only scratches the surface, and the audio quality is awful) but here is some new video of the car in multiple trims, including Blue Velvet!

I read the article twice.

The analysis may be 100% accurate. But, the tone and comments don't match any of the other magazines. The article felt like:
"I don't want to like this car..... But, I can't find any fault with the amazing performance aspects. So, I'll nitpick all the little things that don't match the S500 that's broken down in my garage awaiting $5000 in repairs."

Agree to disagree, then. Sounded to me like they really like it. I find them more critical than the other rags (including their assessment of the interior greenhouse), but that's what, IMO, gives them more credibility.

I hope there will be different versions of the Gen6 Camaro at SEMA this year. I know where I'll be spending most of my time.

The Kelly Blue Book review thinks the Camaro has an Eco Mode???

"DRIVE-MODE SELECTOR
A toggle behind the shifter on the new Camaro lets drivers fine-tune their car's throttle response. In a fuel-saving mood? Select Eco. There's a Sport mode for when you want to have some fun, and Touring for everyday driving. There's even a Track mode for the V8-powered Camaro SS."
