What..? Those two statements directly contradict each other.

No it doesn't because some 2016s are already being produced, and every one that has has been put on the website within a week of production starting.

According to a comment in another thread it will be at least six months until GM offers supplier pricing or any special pricing.

It may be as much as six months per my interpretation of the comment. It is normally at least a few months, so if the six month wait holds, it will be a few months longer than normal. And there are some vehicles where only six months would be welcomed by potential buyers.

Eh, it's the asterisk. If you look at the list, you'll see some cars have an asterisk by them indicating that these models do not include 2016 supplier eligibility yet.

Doesn't supplier pricing become available only after manufacturing start?

but what scares me is the 2016 SS and Malibu are already available for discounts and they have not started production yet. There is no mention at all of a 2016 SS on the chevy website.

Those cars are not new and are NOT in demand. There will be plenty of supply of those, so they will offer the lower pricing.

Take it from someone who went through this 2 years ago with the new C7, there will be no supplier pricing for about 4-6 months. They will supply the new cars to those fools who ordered them without seeing the pricing and the ones who "have to have it NOW". Once all the suckers have been satisfied, the discounting will start.

Remember, it is always the choice of the dealer if they are going to sell at any discount program. You may here of someone offering Supplier discount in Detroit only to find your local dealer refuses...that is up to them.

My suggestion is to watch the forums closely to see when dealers are actually starting to offer it. Don't be afraid to go and buy your car in another state. MANY C7 owners flew to Kansas City and other Midwest dealers to buy their cars.

I happen to be one of those "fools". Its not like there wasn't some kind of idea. Did we know exact price to the penny? No, but I knew that a 2SS was not going to be priced like a Jaguar or Viper. There is a realistic expectation to the price. I know how to manage my money and and what I was willing to pay. Was I off by a thousand or 2? Sure, but that is relatively small. If those figures scare you away then you shouldn't have been looking at that price point anyway

When someone does supplier pricing or employee pricing, does GM send the dealership the difference between MSRP and invoice? Or is the dealer just not making any mark-up on the car?

My dealer said I can use my employee pricing (invoice price) for my 2SS which I already ordered. I'm in Canada though, maybe it's different? When I go and sign my papers for the financing, they can't all of a sudden go "oh GM isn't doing employee pricing for the 2016 Camaro, you have to pay MSRP" can they?

Yeah when I ordered mine I did it with options that I wanted and kept it in check on what I wanted to pay. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I found out that I was eligible for the Gm Legacy Program. So if the car is avail for it great I save a few thousand, if not oh well. I know some people placed orders in hopes of having the pricing right off the bat or they would cancel.
