I agree....the most profitable models should have been announced, revealed, and built first...
So where's the info and schedule for the Z/28, ZL1,and 1LE? |

I disagree on the comment of the 2.0T not being a big seller. My belief is the opposite. The V6 is coming first to move them as best they can. The V6 Camaro will beat the EB & V6 Mustang. But once the 2.0T comes out, also beats the V6 Mustang and hangs with the EB Mustang, nobody will see a reason for the V6 option. Either you get the 4cyl cruiser or you get the 8cyl racer.
In 1-2 years, there won't be a V6 Camaro anymore. |

But look at the stock numbers....the V6 performance over the 2.0 is worth the difference in price. If people want a reasonably priced ride that has great performance they will be looking at the V6 over the 2.0. Only modders who are serious about tuning will choose the 2.0 over the V6 (for performance reasons). There are also those that will choose the V6 over the 2.0 b/c of the sound...same as V8 over all else b/c of sound for some people out there. Too many people are using the Mustang as evidence....yeah the EB sells WAY more, but Ford also neutered the V6 by offering no upper end options or PP on it. Also, the V6 actually LOST a bit of HP over the previous model. They are pushing the EB in a big way. So I think you aren't giving the V6 a fair fight. I love to mod, and my choice would have been the V6 over the 2.0 for the sound, and the fact that I loved my last V6 and it should be easy to get 350+HP out of this one. That would be awesome in a 3,500 pound car...but I ended up in an SS this time around.

I don't think they believe it will be that big a seller vs the other 2 models and I'm sure they would rather get the Camaro out for their enthusiasts vs the T4 buyer who is most likely just buying it for a DD/gas savings.
The one thing Chevy got so right is the T4 -> V6 - V8 order unlike Ford who really confused the heck out of consumers. Their V6 should have been the mid model. |

I'd rather the sound of the 4 than the 6. Blowoff valve and tune for $500 and your psssssh will turn heads.

Doesn't need a tune but the correct short ram intake and by pass valve and you will have sufficient pssssh to turn heads. Of course, little or no power boost unless tuned, but definitely enough pssssh to make it worthwhile.

To bad the lil 4 can't get mrc. A 350-375hp lightweight with mrc would be a blast to drive and cheap too.

LOL
I know of a lot of people in the Solstice/Sky community that have gone over 400 HP with the 2.0T. But 100 HP per cylinder gained by simply upping the boost does not make for a durable engine. Now start from scratch and design it for 400 HP and ultra high cylinder pressures? Maybe. Now if you baby it around town and don't do what GM does to validate an engine and don't put a lot of miles on it, you might be ok. It's just not an engine that would likely pass any OEM's testing for durability or emissions. But of course there are tuners out there that will tell you it's MOHR durable than stock. ![]() Remember, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

It looks impressive, even though its just a 4 banger. I definitely want to try one out when they are available, but I want the V8. Still, I bet its fun to throw around. |
