I agree that it should be an available option. Maybe we'll see it on the 2017's. If enough people complain it will happen.
But, to say that Chevy isn't serious about performance is just silly. |

I think they proved they are very serious about performance today. If you are serious either get a manual or an SS

I have no problem with it not having one but it should have an option box to check if you want it.

OP, this is really a verrrrry poorly worded post. How serious is GM about performance on the day they announced performance figures that on paper BURY the Mustang??????
Simply ask why didn't GM offer a limited slip diff on the non SS models and we might have had a good discussion. Cost is one, mass likely another and simply that people buying the V6 and I4 likely wouldn't be buying it in volumes sufficient to add the manufacturing complexity.

I would say people buying an automatic transmission equipped Turbo 4 or a V 6 are not as interested in a limited slip differential than people buying manual transmission equipped of the same. And to extend the thought, Chevy has determined people buying an SS are interested because if you are spending the premium to go for the SS it is more likely than not you are doing so for performance results, whether auto or manual equipped.

I wish they had offered it on the 2.0 and V6 as well. I can certainly understand several reasons not to offer it (cost, complexity, low take rate). But we will never know just how much cost it could have added. In the end, it just might not be worth it.
If I had gone with the V6 again, and I ALMOST did, I'd be bummed that I couldn't get LSD, just like I was bummed the 5th gen V6 didn't have it, but those performance numbers announced today are undeniable impressive regardless. Oh...and I think GM is VERY serious about performance.

They should just offer it and some other gear options and let people pick what they want....and that spoiler delete we've been asking for in the SS. Not everyone is going to track/race their SS.

I am looking forward to purchasing a 2017 Camaro with the 2.0T. With massive traffic in Los Angeles, I would most likely get the A8. It's kind of a letdown not seeing the LT A8's come with a LSD. I'm a bit bugged out by the fact that there's no option on the 2016 Camaro. I hope by the time 2017 Camaro comes around, there's some sort of option to give the LT trims a LSD.
By chance, anyone know how to let our voices be heard so that 2017 LT's come with a LSD option? |

I can't begin to tell you just how serious GM is about performance.
Knowing the Camaro team as I do, and those here who have met some of the team members, I know, will back me up on this and will tell you the same. It's a 'Take No Prisoners' attitude and approach. The team shares the same enthusiasm as we do for Camaro. They will do whatever it takes to remain on top and will simply not accept 2nd place, whatever the circumstances. Capieche? Best regards, Elie

I agree with OP 100% if GM really cared about performance this is what they would have done instead:
http://www.msn.com/en-us/video/viral...way/vi-BBlThAi If you don't do something close to this then you obviously don't care about performance.
