THIS....It was never stated that it was 300 pounds less. I think it was "nearly"...so I'm going to say 275+.

Same here. Even if Chevy mislead us a bit, and is comparing a 2015 2SS to a 2016 base 1SS, the car should STILL be under 3,750 pounds. Unless they went with some ridiculous comparison, and compared a loaded out 2SS that weighs over 4,000 pounds to a 1SS....but I just can't imagine they'd pull something that dumb.

I think the GTPP is more like 3,780 pounds....(which isn't much I know) hey...if we critical of them, gotta be critical of what we say too right?

1SS comes with lots of goodies in my opinion, but its nowhere near loaded.

Is there really a chance it weighs 3,750 lbs or less? I know they said it would be lighter, but if the weight comes in at that or less, I'd be very happy. Everything weighs a ridiculous amount now.

Looking forward to learning more about this car.

If not be sure to send Al O. a nasty message, but more likely you will be sending him a big thank you for pulling it off

FYI take a look at some of press releases/videos with his comments about weight. He goes out of his way to be very direct about the weight, not dance around it with word choice.

He also said we would be pleasantly surprised about the prices

He also said specifically that the car would be 200 lbs lighter for SS and almost 300 for v6. The price is subjective, some people are happy with the price for what they are getting some are not. Can't really base those comments off one another.

Exactly. Go take a look at a Scat Pack Challenger or GTPP Premium loaded similarly to a 2SS. The 2SS is right in the mix. Now if you compare it to an SRT 392 it is cheaper.

The only price is subjective b/c they view it as us getting more for less, while other view it as paying more for things they never wanted. And a lot of people fail to look at the 5th gen MSRPs with comparable options. The prices are very close, but no one has been (or should have been) paying MSRP for the 5th gen for awhile.

The difference is the 2SS doesn't come with any performance upgrades. The Scat Pack gets the 6.4 and the GT gets the PP, for about the same price.

How do you come to that conclusion? Look at all the coolers it comes stock with. Stock has the 3:73 gears, the tires are staggered performance, Brembo brakes on all 4 corners.

With its not upgraded performance it will still beat both of those cars in every comparison. Although down the strip it might be close with the dodge camp.

Well once we know the specs, the others upgrades may end up falling short of what is standard on 1SS and 2SS. Then then value will be even greater. It's guessing right now I know, which why I can't say the price is bad or good until we know how it does. But from a features standpoint the 2SS is still a good value, apples to apples.

The PP on the GT will really be bad since it couldn't help it beat a 5th gen 1LE, and if the 1SS 6th gen handles better than the 1LE 5th gen, then even more value is in the 6th gen's court. The only thing the Mustang will have to claim is it is simply cheaper, but Dodge can say that too about the R/T. And both will offer less than a 6th gen 1SS.

wait for performance numbers, then we can revisit the whole "price" issue.

Because the Scat Pack is an upgrade over the base V8 and the PP is an upgrade over the GT Premium.

How does the SS coming with coolers, 3.73 and run flats change the fact that none of those are upgrades over the base V8?
