No or that info would be plastered all over this site. Other than the price which was released, it is the one thing everyone has wanted to know since the reveal back at Bell Isle.

We know the weight of the 1LT is 300lbs less and the SD is about 200lbs less. But outside of that, no specific numbers. But as we draw close to release all must be revealed.

That was Al's statement at Camarofest during the tech review of the 6th gen.

Technically Al's been saying that the base model is almost 300 pounds less. We do need to be specific on that or there might be a bit of rioting.

That being said, all other models are supposed to be "at least" 200lbs.

Don't worry I'll have plenty of cream for everyone that's butthurt about the weight being to high like the price is. I've been weary about those number then after hearing him speak I felt confident about it UNTIL I heard the price reference and then saw the actual price. Yes it was vague but I'm taking it as a sign. The people hanging on those numbers will be let down and then will have to justify it to themselves. (Drops mic and puts on flame suit)

If the SS doesn't weigh at or under 3750,lots of people will be upset including me.

Don't remember him really mentioning price. Besides engineering speak and sales speak are two very different things. Prime example....sales teams use "competitive pricing" which is technically correct because you look at the MSRP ranges of your competition and make sure you fall into that gap, which thanks to the very high price of the SRT 392, Chevy did.

When I seen the price I had a different view. Maybe they did hit the mark. More aluminum and lighter components etc will drive the price up. As well as some of the standard features but still. I'm thinking the car is going to be a real performer and the price reflects that. Wishful thinking I know.

Funny thing. Even if the car comes in at 3800 lbs that's what the gt pp weighs. And it won't stop the camaro ss from besting the mustang gt in every performance metric. Their joy will be short lived... Although entertaining. It's not going to be a huge deal either way in the long rung. But yeah... Im gonna have my popcorn ready for the short run.

I still just don't understand why they would make such clear statements regarding weight this close to release if they didn't at least come very close.

They may have used lighter parts and needed to to offset the fact that the 1ss comes damn near loaded stock!!! Without the bells and whistles I could see a nice weight drop but not that it's standard that will not only hike the price but also the weight. So while the car did lose weight Chevy decided to force you to buy stuff you may not want and that sucks. Some guys don't want all of that or to pay for it. I'd rather have cloth seats,no premium stereo,no GPS, 18 wheels and non heated/cooled seats. All of that plus the wiring adds up quick. I'm sure I missed a few other little things. Now if I just wanted it to cruise with no intention on ever tracking or racing it id add all those back in and maybe even a vert.

Other than the 18" wheels, you just described the 1SS. The only things it has on it other than the heavy duty cooling is the 8" screens which don't add any weight. Unless I'm missing something.
